I phone 6 and Bluetooth

Has any body got an iPhone 6 and if you do ,do you use it with Bluetooth.
I have been told by Alpine that the iPhone 6 will not work with their unit.I would like to know if anybody else has a problem connecting Bluetooth with Iphone 6.

My iPhone 6+ connects without any problems to Bluetooth devices.

iPhones generally connect fine to blutooth hands free devices, they just won’t connect to non Apple phones for transferring files etc.

My 6 connects to all the bluetooth stuff I have.

It should connect.

As ever with the issues with iphones, the best solution is to replace it with something that isn’t an iphone…

I had a bullet proof 3. My 5 has a faulty mic & my 4 doesn’t ring, only vibes & the volume buttons don’t work, that was after replacing the charging port on the 5 & the screen on my 4 (both my fault admittedly).

mine works with my iphone 6 fine not sure what the head unit is but its an insignia!

Do you have an iPhone 6? If so, are you having problems with wifi connection? It’s really ■■■■■■■ me off.

Hi, Apple launched an update to solve this problem. The latest system is iOS 8.0.2. You can check by going into settings/General/Software update.

When the iphone 6 came out … it initially worked with most blue tooth stuff, but the later updates killed it. Bluetooth uses several protocols for connecting devices A2DP for audio streaming and HFP ( Hands free Protocol) for allowing control from external devices … it seems to me that Apple have not implemented the HFP protocol correctly with ios 8.0.2 so its killed all the connectivity, although, you may have an installed unit that uses A2DP that will still allow hands free use, but it requires you to touch your phone to accept a call (which is legally fine if its in a cradle) however on my kenwood head units, it means no other services are availble, and it will still not work with my BMW car. Tomorrow 20thoctober, there is a new release of 8.1 apparently … so lets see what that brings :open_mouth:

I installed 8.1 last night and it would seem HFP has now been properly implemented, and all my hands free devices now work as they used to … ■■■■ those Apple software ■■■■ heads that ■■■■■■ ed it in the first place :imp: what the hell were they thinking ? :open_mouth:
