Desperate for a job back in 2000 I jumped at £60/shift to drive a chilled 7.5tonner for a sandwich maker based near Tamworth, Staffs…that will teach me…

collect truck 9pm
drive down to Newport Pagnall services north, drop roll cages, wheel into stores, back over to the south side
down to london gateway services drop there, out the back of the carpark through some dodgy roads and…
round the M25, up the M11 to Birchanger, drop cages, wheel into stores, etc
back down the M11, M25, M2 and into Faversham train station (platform office)
then down to Dover to an industrial estate which opened at 3.30am, after your nap…
then back up to Hayes distribution (Dagenham) and wait while 2 pallets get scanned in…
then back round the M25 (7.30am) to get to Newport Pagnall village (Welcome Breaks HQ) to deliver free staff sandwiches that MUST arrive by 08.30am, then drive back to base by 09.30am

good job the wagon wasnt restricted then…

Ive not got over it TBH…still gives me nightmares

looping over motorways on service roads, sleeping in a day cab, the M25 at 7am…shudder

mind you, after that I had some fun too, multidrop 30 drops over 300 miles a day…
