Hi all, not been around much (although i do look in on you all) Truckies is taking up a lot of my time (MOST!)
Last week I delivered a load of pallets to a factory. Whilst being tipped a chap pulled up in a 10plate FH. After he spoken to me for a few mins he dcided to tell me how his almost new truck was a pile of crap!!! Digi tacho, lack of cupboards? and the fact it was limited to 52mph.
How greatful am I that I don’t have to suffer a brand new truck!!!
Some people will never be satisfied, will they? Is it genetic or are they just generic? 
How are you keeping ,Bob? Any repercussions from the accident ?
Just because its new don’t mean its any good. no truck is the perfect tuck for everyone. I got a new renault premium 460 i don’t like everything about it. But over all its not a bad truck.
Lack of cupboards? In an FH? I can’t move for banging my head on mine!!!
Anyone who has a new truck nowadays has a decent bit of kit. The first heavy I drove had no power steering and wood for brake blocks! Oh and a little push button am radio! Ever since then every new or newish truck I’ve had was an improvement on that! And I didn’t think it was a bad truck at the time! You’re spoilt rotten now you kids!

, Luxury, I used to dream of having a radio, I had to sing to myself just to keep awake, and my brakes were 2 bricks on pieces of string, all for 2 shillings an hour, 23 hour shift, . 
and when I got home my dad would thrash us to sleep with his belt

You’re luckier than me. I couldn’t sing, I used to sling a sheet out the window for brakes, 25 hrs a day for a piece of coal and dad used to ride shot gun and thrash me to stay awake lol

luxury, i use to dream of a dad to thrash me AND a lump of coal !!!, we got up 2hrs before going to bed , lick the road clean then go to work for 26 hrs for a lick of salt and thrashed before bed
I can’t see why he’s a plonker…? Some of the new trucks aren’t great and to be honest I sometimes have the same view…Sometimes the newish trucks that sainsbury’s have ■■■■ me off…when I worked for Vitacress there was an old ERF I was always given…they gave it to me because they knew I liked it. Didn’t have cruise control…but it was a brilliant truck and I’d pick it over many of today’s trucks.
I’f you got given a free gee-wizz to drive around in, I’m sure you’d complain…does that make you a plonker too? No…you’ve every right to complain, just because its new and free, doesn’t mean you have to like it…and the gee-wizz is a sack of something or other that this forum isn’t allowed to read!
Well i have a new Iveco Stralis - 3 weeks old
I have
1,no air-con - broken - the gas leaked out due to a hole somewhere under the dash within 1 day of delivery
2,no night heater - the glow plug is defective on order from Italy lol
its not very comfortable either the seat is really hard and so is the top bunk - i am hoping it’ll get softer with age
Some new trucks aren’t always as good as they seem from the outside
the good points are its a flyer 55mph/90km on the button up and down the hills
its good on fuel and it looks good and the digi tacho is a by the second one
The auto gearbox is really nice never seems to forget what gear its in lol

Hi Harry. Funny thing you should ask that. It was only last night I looked at the thread about my incident. Not to dwell, but to see how far I’ve come. I can go thru most days with out giving it a thought, but every now and again there are moments. Usually when I see someone taking a risk. Friday was a bad day for me, I can’t say what exactly triggered it. There are so many things that we all take for granted everyday as drivers, sometimes it makes me think how lucky I was to of been driving within the law that day.

Why is he a plonker? Because it was his choice to move trucks. Because it was a 10 plate prestige trim 480 FH. Because he stood there slagging off his employer to a total stranger, un aware that I know his employer. How many reasons did you want? And no I didn’t go and tell his employer what he had said, just as I haven’t said on here everything he said.
