Had a phone call this morning, asking me if I wanted at least 2 weeks work starting the 17th while I am waiting to start my new job in September. Its doing removals so dont know if I will be driving or just labouring. Hopefully will get behind the wheel and get a bit of experiance in and I imagine removals can be fun when it comes to getting into tight roads where some idiot has parked there car on the corner blocking me.
Its all experiance and I dont mind abit of graft carrying stuff up and down stairs been saying I need to do something about this belly for a while
I think you’ll find two weeks doing removals would be long enough for anyone.Delivering new stuff into peoples houses is bad enough,but packing up second hand belongings,rather you than me.
good for you big brummie macca , if you can drive rather than labouring it will give you that bit of extra ‘recent’ experience before for new job starts in september.

Unless you are very fit and built like a BSH you will probably hate it. I wouldn’t do that work for all the money in the world.
I know it isnt easy work, it is for my Grandads company I used to do Saturdays in the warehouse when I was at school and if there was a move to do on Saturday and they were short on bodies I went out and helped.
My last job was driving a van to where ever and spending the next how ever long carrying cable and racks into BT telephone exchanges usually up stairs so Im used to carrying. Never been afraid of hard work Im a big strong lad so sure I will manage, maybe lose a few pounds at the same time glass is always half full lads
The way I am looking at it is, it gets me out the house and some money in the old sky rocket and if I do any driving its all experience. Its only until I start my new job but in this game you never know what will happen so this gives me another option if my new job should fall through, doubt it but you never know.
Removals can be a good laugh if you are with the right people and you can hopefully get a bit of practice in for when you start your other job.

Thats where i started my driving career from the ■■■■■■ packing van,then the luton ■■■■■■, 7.5 luton which was a monster of a truck it had 27foot body on it then up to 18tonners.I was a scream of a job loved every minute of it well i spent 7 years doing it great people i worked with you cant beat the crack.
Oh and if you do drive a full size wagon watch out for the tail end swing on the body that can do some damage

I think things are getting better for newbies like a few people have said on here, I dont know what anybody else thinks but I think this DCPC is already having a sort of effect being as if you past your test now then you valid till 2015 which is one year longer than a high percentage of the drivers, so companies have a little longer to train you and can spread that training over five years instead of 4 improving cash flow a little. I want to try and get my DCPC hours in as quick as possible because if I am right then you will be more employable if you can say I dont have to worry about DCPC until 2010.
I might be miles off the ball here what do others think?

Nah still away but at inlaws now so have access to internet dont worry once my first day comes everyone will know about it cant wait
