Would be more amusing if those knocking agency drivers would come up with something new but it’s always the same old boring guff
Juddian:
The problem is those who post drivel don’t bite with the same default defensive reaction. The young poke fun at the old the old poke fun at the young, those with hair poke fun at the bald or vice versa, those in some industries poke fun at those in others, crying out loud we poke fun at each all the time, it’s the British way its always been the same whether in peace or at war, its healthy and normal and injects some amusement into life and long may it continue to be allowed.
In most cases we’re laughing at ourselves and our own faults because that’s what genuine Brits do, you have to put some humour into the ludicrous situations we find ourselves, whether its job family country or world wise the whole thing is ludicrous beyond belief and getting worse year on year and if you didn’t laugh your own place in the whole bloody mess you’d end up…er probably taking yourself as seriously as politicians, and some agency lads do too and start believing your own propaganda…
Don’t see many post about age, different jobs or shiny heads !!!. The number of threads on this issue is just getting boring. Anything but more of this would be appreciated be it humorous or informative.
robroy:
Like I said on the other thread, if someone is seen to be rattled about something and bites, then the banter increases. The knock on effect can be that some times it gets a bit more bitter until it turns into abuse.
So let’s just admit it we are all in the same crap job, and we are all drivers together on here, whether agency or full time.Even I as one of the main agency driver wind up culprits on here
, am getting a bit bored [zb] less with all this, …4 threads on the same page, on the same subject ffs
Big plus 1
Conor, stop biting - it’s pointless. Yes, it can get tedious and sometimes unfunny. A lot is banter though to my mind and some of it can be funny. Someone said on another thread he has a secret smile if he sees someone with a limp and thinks about what is being said on here ( or something along those lines anyway - don’t quote me on it) It didn’t come across as cruel, just the bantering on here. Only 2 days ago I’d been sat on sofa with legs tucked under my bum too long; when it was time to get off and stand up, my legs were stiff for a few seconds, and I thought about the comments on here and if I was going to have to limp to the kitchen
Like I said before about being stuck in a lift, and Robroy got all indignant and drama queenish about it
the trouble with this is its boring, been done to death but still gets the same old biters (I have bitten once or twice too). its no different to the stobby bashers to me.
only thing these threads do for me is make the site boring and tedious as its page after page of almost the same old crap.

Hey! Anymore of that and I will start crying and mince off into a corner.
You are only having a go at me because I am a full timer, now pack it in or I will need counselling, and .have to form a circle with the other full timers holding hands in a circle and sit chanting for bullying therapy. .

Hey! Great idea mate Let’s switch to some more Stobbybashing, why didn’t I think of that

if all else fails revert back to stobby!
Simple really those who can are permanent those who can’t are stuck on agency lol
I was on an unfamiliar road a couple of years ago joining a dual carriageway. Unfortunately the slip road was a lot shorter than I expected and a big Stobart driver had already moved over for me. My bad, I know. Mind you, another Stobart driver nearly squashed me when on a slip road joining A38 or M1 as two lanes joined into one and I think the paint on the road was worn out. That was all in Staffs.

I’m not that insecure to let someone on the internet get to me…
Christ all mighty, don’t get him started about insecurities! It was only the other week he lectured me about being too insecure to quit my well paid full time job & go chasing the big money with the agencies, like him…Only to discover he’s on a tenner an hour! Never had such a good laugh at an idiot in a long time. Clearly deluded & thinks he’s living the high life.
I’d just like to say that I’m full time and I have a carrier bag I take my lunch box and my flask in.
My overnight bag is left in my cab.
I genuinely can’t understand the whole carrier bag negativity.
I must add that it is not a lidl bag though it’s a Morison’s bag for life . ( I shopped there once before I realised how good aldi is ) no snobbery over here in life you gotta live within your means.
Dave000:
I am an agency driver and this forum shamed me to upgrade from my asda bag to a proper work bag. But I did line it with an asda bag
Undercover agency, good thinking.

It keeps the children happy, gives them something to do.

Have you got father and son matching Mondeos though?
im quite happy to be on agency… because after 15 years or so of working direct for various companies uk/europe
i got totally pi**ed of with being treated like dirt being lied to lousey wages compared to the time worked etc etc
so back onto agency while things can go up and down as we all know usually i have plenty of work at normally higher rate than core drivers
im really not interested in the opinions of others although i agree that if companies were to raise their core P/H rates more people would be thinking about driving for a living but that is not going to happen soon. i feel that its jelousey on some drivers part that they envy the agency drivers abillity to chop change and cope with different almost daily changes in unit and trailer i do not consider myself a driving genius and have had my moments over the years but i do think im steady enough to get the job done its not all roses on agency but its a lot better than the manure they grow in

You feel it’s what■■?
Anyway, drivers envy the abilities of agency drivers…are you serious? I’v lost track of the number of times I’v been asked by agency monkeys how trailers/units/ratchets work. Then there’s the clowns sitting in container yards waiting to load 40’ containers onto skellies set at 30’ or 20’.
With the exception of a few (& I do mean a few) agency drivers are no hope half-wits who cannot secure themselves a proper job, they turn up at jobs with no idea what the ■■■■ they are doing half the time! Then they tip up on here claiming this ‘work when the agency call me’ routine is exactly how they want to be operating, don’t make me laugh. I’v seen enough of these dummies trying to drive (with limited success) to know the reasons they can’t find & keep a proper job.

When Conor reads this expect the declaration of world war 3 on your ■■■
Conor now knows better now hopefully
I must agree with the chopping and changing aspect - more admirable

He’s tried that before, & just resulted in my eyes watering with laughter. I’ll await the backlash, & can only hope I’v not made too many spelling errors.
