:unamused: no it wont come out, i have tried

just trying to go with the positive vibe of the thread, my job does have its downsides, and there are plenty of them!

i agree with euromat… the job does have alot of downsides… One been double drivers who couldnt careless and think they are out there on holiday and not too do a job. The other is having to put up with people like me all day everyday   .

Just think this site needs some positive posts now and again, so heres mine. That is all, thank you.

Fair play to you Luke, that’s exactly what this site need’s.

Well, after 3 months of no work (apart from some dodgy company that wanted me to run bent, and had no maintenance procedures whatsoever), Im off down to Calgary on Monday for a Week of Training with my new employer. They are paying all expenses (bus ticket, accomodation and food) . The bus they put me on is a business class bus (leather reclining seats, Power points, Complimentary drinks), not the crappy greyhound bus. They are putting me into a Kingsize bedroom at the Travelodge in Calgary, Free WiFi, Fridge & Microwave in room, Breakfast included in hotel stay.

Im going to be trained by the area manager, working i presume tues, wed, and thursday with him, then im told im driving my truck (12 tonne straight truck without airbrakes) back upto edmonton on friday. The pay isnt too bad for the work i will be doing. $16 an hour, 40 hours a week, home every night (2 nights out fully paid a month). All work is dock to dock, and no handball. All work is palletised, I just need to scan each item on the pallets before wrapping and loading the pallet onto the truck.

Work is driving all over northern Alberta (Alberta is 3 times the size of the UK).
