Sorry guys, and I’m likely to get battered by this, but I wouldn’t let anyone in front of me. What happens if you just let one fella with one pallet in front and then another comes in…and then another…and then another! Before you know it you’re two hours behind. Where would you draw the line? I also have deadlines, family to get home to etc. …now looking for tin hat

This last comment adequetly sums up the transport,sorry logistics industry of to-day !! Dog eat Dog and every man for himself !! You can’t expect anything else in an industry thats been deteriating for the past 20 odd years or so !! Cheers Bewick.

i had someone in a right flap once, he only had three pallets, and he was running out of time.
so i let him in front, but he still ran out of time on the bay, so i gave him a spare magnet.
and i didn’t even charge him.
Some years ago I was doing five drops, 1 in Coventry (Palmer & Harvey) and 4 in Nottingham. Got to P&H and three artics in front, asked first driver if I could go in front as only two lifts. No problem mate he replies, then I encounter the forkie, “those three are in front of you and they are all full loads”. Phone call to office who get our customer (Jeyes) to ring me. Result, “they obviously don’t need them this week carry on to Nottingham”. The forkie’s face was a picture as I pulled out.
Ive done multi-drop for palletways in the past and know what its like ,I now will let the guys with 1 pallet jump the queue.
I’m paid by the hour anyway so it doesnt matter to me.
However if the attitude of the guy asking is wrong, I may be tempted to say ■■■■■■■■
I will normally let someone in front of me if they have 1 or 2 pallets but…cue Greggs in manchester waiting with the back doors open for the artic on the bay to tip.
Off the bay he comes and this prick in a rhys davies 7.5 tonner comes in and automatically reverses on the bay in front of me"ive only got 2 pallets" he says “so have i and ive been waiting for 30 mins so ■■■■■■■ move before i block you in” needless to say he did and 15 mins later i was on my way.
If he would of asked me in the first place i wouldnt of minded but to just back on the bay knowing full well i was waiting boils my ■■■■…and then some!!
One day at an asda rdc i was going regullary with just 1pallet i went to see the driver on the front and asked him if he would mind me getting just the 1pallet off,“YES I DO MIND” was his answer. I opened the curtain and the forkie tipped me with out questioning,as he always did!!I was just trying to be polite with the other drivers
