I hate trucks, and all truck drivers are a bunch of

Well I guess I have your attention.
No, I don’t hate trucks, and as being a truck driver for many years myself I know exactly what truck drivers are. However it does disturb me that much of the general public does in fact hate trucks, and thinks very little of the people that are involved in various aspects of our industry.
Yes there have been golden moments like when there are positive images on prime time television, but the overall view that the general public has of our industry is very worrying.

If I was to say that I hate Jews, Blacks, Disabled People, any kind of religious group, or minority then there would quite rightly be public outrage ( I don’t actually hate any of those people or any other kind of person )

However it seems to generally acceptable that the general public can hate trucks and think extremely degrading things about the truck drivers.
I don’t have any answers about such things, I have no political clout, I don’t have large amount of money to throw at the media to run a campaign.
This isn’t an optimality that’s just sprung to mind, I have been thinking about this most of my life, I’ve done as many positive things to promote the industry as I can, but still I get the same attitude from the general public.

Up until recently most of the anti truck sentiment has been generated by the print media, who have had complete control of what gets out into the world in general. However now that anyone with a computer can have their say perhaps there is now a way of at least getting a positive message across.

As someone who drives trucks my experience is (some) truck drivers are their own worse enemy with bad driving, steering with elbows while on mobile phone, smelly, unwashed, chucking urine bottles out of windows etc etc (not that i’m saying its only drivers who do this before anyone starts shouting) so its no wonder why they are hated by the general public.

Not the case for all drivers I know, but it only takes a minority to ruin for the majority!

I thought this the other day, the most respected road user at the moment is motorcycle rider. Gonna book my cbt lol

Stuff the fool riding the bike, think how those truck drivers must have felt when they realised what had just happened! The damage to the trucks, plod getting involved, etc etc all because another dumb arse motor cycler thinks the rules of the road don’t apply to him and that he can ride how he likes. (zb)ing idiot.

I do love all the signs that say “THINK BIKE” and wonder what the ■■■■ the bikers are thinking about…

I drive trucks and also ride a motorbike, held class 1 (c + e) for 21 years now, bike licence for 4, I know what trucks are capable of, wide turns, height/weight restrictions 56mph all day (if your lucky), so when I,m out on the bike say overtaking a truck, I tend to think more about the truck is doing or about to do, like if a super single blows out when I,m passing it I don’t stand a chance. So what im saying is THINK BIKE, THINK TRUCK, by the way watched the video upload, I agree, what a complete nob ed. People should learn to respect trucks/drivers cos without them this countries screwed
