Firstly thanks to all who offered advice and help.
From tomorrow I’m putting in my notice to go work for Heron foods.
I had my interview and driving assessment yesterday, interview went well, assessment was fine barring the reverse, which I made a right pigs ear out of.
Today had a call asking if I’m still interested, hells yeah!
Their starting me off on class2 which is great not much difference in pay, then 13 weeks later class1 work.
Really chuffed with it all and from lessons to job about 5 weeks but i think I was lucky, with herons advertising.
This forum is without a doubt a great tool for drivers.

Do you know if they have anymore jobs going? Just passed my class 2 and was thinking of popping a cv in once I’ve done my cpc as there only up the road from me.

Thought I’d come back and let you know how im getting on. So there is a reason they have a quick turn over on drivers, it’s crap, wages are ok but thats all. stressed out especially on freezer runs, 10-13 drops with no room to move In the back. Some shops are a joke and it makes it dangerous. Reverse off roundabouts, arrogant driving just to get on. I don’t enjoy it and haven’t had any inclination of class1 work. Which is what I wanted. Having said that what it’s going to be like in one? I am considering whether or not hold on for a bit of class 1 experience or not. Life is at a all time low TBH. Am I just ■■■■■■■■ about nothing or should it be more straight forward.
I’m sorry it’s not come out as you hoped, foodservice deliveries tend to be like that, too many drops, unrealistic expectations from office bods and customers alike. I dunno about class 1 in that trade, personally I think it will be more of the same. Keep looking for class 1 if you can preferably not multidrop to give you chance to get real experience first.
