I got a job..... woohoo!

I start next week with a local haulage co, class 2.

I followed Deaks advice trucknetuk.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=11571 & wrote letters to everyone  Thanks mate!

Seems they want me as much for my forks licence as the class 2 cos the guys load their own wagons & they only had 1 fork driver. At least if I load it myself I only got me to blame if it’s wrong

congratulations, and when you have setteled in do not forget to put a post on the net letting us know how it is going,

Well done Melchett

Sounds like they don’t load themselves then. This one fork driver amongst them loads them.

Good luck though. Hope you get on ok.

Glad to hear it worked for you too. It beats looking at some of the ■■■■ advertised in the Sentinel every Wednesday! I used to work for a local haulage firm on class 1 - don’t suppose you want to say who you’re working for?

Nice one Melchett, pleased it working out for you, good luck with the new job.

Just be sure you’r not loading yourself whilst you’r on break Melchette :open_mouth:. Enjoy the job  & congratulations.

nice one :exclamation: hope all goes well for you

Thanks everyone it’s much appreciated  Gotta say I’m well nervous, it’s one thing passing your test but it’s a whole new ball game when your doing it for real… hope I don’t kill anyone on my 1st day lol

The sentinal is pants, all agency! The company is Reid Freight, Longton. The jobs a bit of a pain but I don’t mind as it gets my foot in the door… this could all change tho as I got an Interview for mixer driver tomorrow

Seem’s like you just saved them employing a few warehouseman to load the vehicle’s.

Good luck and well done.

I didn’t find it too much of a problem at all, once I got going.

You might be pleasantly suprised, just don’t rush and I think it all falls into place.

Once I’d had a few days on the road I wondered why I’d found the lessons and test hard work at all.

It’s all change  I went for my interview & was offered the job… more money, less hours & overtime if I want it. Seems they have opted out of the WTD ( I didn’t know they could?? )

I start with Bardon concrete a week on monday. Brand new Fodens, dunno what they are like?

I think they are allowed to opt out as concrete is classed as a perisible load.

Not 100% cert though
