i shop wherever its convenient, or if the price and quality are right…i try and separate work from play, so if i get wound up at sainsburys…i chill out when i finish work, and carry on as normal. But hey i know how some companies can wind you up, especially Rob with his container…maybe you should have parked near the gate then told them you cant move till you get the doors closed…see how high they jump then.

I actually did that at MAKRO edinburgh, the goods in monkey there is a right [zb]. used to do pallet deliveries and that was one of my regular drops. one morning i got there and was the only truck there, so I pulled on to the ramp thinking I was saving time for him and myself. The prick, because he thinks he is better than any driver that delivers there closed the shutter door and said to me we tell you when to go on the bay, we’re not unloading you.
Fine I said please yourself, locked the cab and went home. I live 5 minutes walk from the place. apparently it took 4 hours for replacement keys to arrive and another 7 trucks pulled in after me.
I won’t take [zb] off any goods in monkey or transport manager.

He is still the same booked in at 7am on friday got there 06.55 nobody else around i went straight on the bay. He came out bumping his gums told me to pull off and go over to the overspill, 10 minutes later he shouts me over :unamused:

Guy definitely has a control problem.

I don’t shop at Welcome break, Moto, Extra etc, becuase they are too bloody expensive!
I try not to shop at Tesco because many years ago, when i used to be regular agency driver for them, they treated me like a piece of sit, and the TM spoke to my missus like she was a piece of sit when they phoned her to say i hadn’t turned up for work, even though, at that time i was actually out in one of thier vehicles delivering to a store, and i came back to the depot, and did a second run for them.! they made her sick with worry, she had the police out, called the hospitals, first i knew of it was when i got home the next morning. That was the last time i ever drove, or ever will drive for Tesco.
Unforunatly i live in Tescotown AKA bicester, so its a trip to MK or Wheatley for the nearest Asda, but…he,he, we got a new LIDLS that will stick one up Tesco!

i wont shop anywhere, its womens work shopping is,id much rather put my feet a with a cider or two and watch the footie, motorbikes or whatever, sounds like its the highlight of a lot of truckers weeks, deciding which supermarket to push a trolley round :frowning: :frowning: :frowning:

Do you actually think that Tesco, Asda, Morrisons or any supermarket give a toss if a few drivers and their famillies don’t shop at their stores :sunglasses: .
There are another few million who will

Nice idea Bob, but then they phone up your company and a) tell them what you’ve done and now you are banned from site and then b) if you don’t move it NOW then your whole company will be banned. Not a good situation when you are ‘working’ for them via agy or s/e. Tesco food and products are [zb] anyway so probably done me favour.

Sould’ve reversed doors upto building and started reversing :smiling_imp:

But, I’m with the others, I’d have blocked the yard off until someone helped, they can phone who the ■■■■ they want

No of course not, but ■■■■ off enough people and they’ll soon start noticing the difference in their profits. Just in this thread there’s about half a dozen people that won’t shop there and assuming those people have families that’s easily £1000 a week or £52k a year in income they’re missing out on. :bulb:

I don’t buy the Oxford Mail, partly because it’s crap but mainly I hate all their anti-lorry reporting ie it’s always a lorry collided with a car, never the other way around.

I don’t shop at B&Q, Payless DIY, or any other DIY shop for that matter.

Because if I did I would end up sending what little free time I have either painting or fixing our house…

Life is too short.

Oh and I don’t do McDonalds either, because I hate the stuff

As Ken Bruce says, DIY stands for Don’t Involve Yourself.

52k a year is a drop in the ocean for the supermarkets, now if every driver and all their famillies refused to shop at them, that would be a different matter

Mrs goes to macro once a month to buy bleach bog roll and bin bags and does all our food shopping at local butchers and greengrocers and bakers works out cheaper than you think and we waste a lot less food as we only buy as we need it.
But to be fair there’s only the two of us and we work regular hours so it’s not to difficult
