I applied for a job

about a week ago i saw what i thought was the perfect job.
driving a 65 ton lorry through sweden to a mine in the arctic. 1250 euros per week.
i thought my experience would tick all the boxes.
well there was one box i didn’t tick. “they only employ hungarian drivers”.

Hi all.I dont know which company that was,but Northland Resources in Kaunisvaara are employing mostly Swedish drivers and some Finns.I don’t think that east block drivers will be employed as they are asking for a minimum of 3-5years experience, preferably with roadtrains and and winter experience as they will be running at between 70 and 90tons gross 24\7.
I have already been offered 2 jobs there but am happy where i am.It seems they will need up to 250 drivers.
The pay is for a shift system of 4 days driving then 6 days free.so is not bad.BUT it will be very hard for a lot of people as it is at least 5\6 months winter driving with temps down to min 45c :open_mouth: But hey it could be fun if your young and want some adventure and the chance to earn good money.
DON’T compare it with IRT as the situation is very different up here.Take care.Mike
