I am in the UK at the moment and watching all you [zb]s driving around, I had a near miss with ‘Jimbo’ Murdoch on Monday, I drove through Towcester on may way to MK and got a call from him to tell me he was loading in Towcester… Luckily I got out of buying him breakfast at the Super sausage.
I am flying home on Tuesday 9th. In the meantime I will be observing you all as I drive around in this silver Skoda Supurb estate, which I find remarkably good, I never thought I would say that about a Skoda LOL.
While you are here Pat, count the Muppets that drive with a high viz on, do they do that in Canada/ USA ?
In the UK , if they wear a don’t knock me down bib, it makes the driver invincible and not hit low bridges.
we hope you enjoy your stay, i have a 2001 skoda Octavia estate at over 179,000 miles the only thing done apart from servicing is an alternator repair and then a turbo when my son tried racing an audi, i like it, it fits like an old pair of slippers now, still very good on fuel. keep up with the posts always good to read, i am looking to cross the pond next year to see what goes on, keep safe over there.
a quick edit i got the mileage wrong its 197,000 miles,
We drive on the left side here…

In Canada some of the French Canadians drive wearing hi viz stuff but you will not see an American wearing it. I have a hi viz vest for use at some Canadian sites but mostly it sits on the back of my passenger seat.

It usually takes me from leaving Avis’s compound to the end of the road to get used to it LOL, within a day I am driving like a maniac again … Much to the annoyance of my wife.

As above, enjoy your stay.
We had a hired Renault in '08 and it was 'orrible, but it gave us trouble so had it changed. When the bloke said “that’s your Skoda over there” I nearly fainted, but it was the best car we’d had out of all the trips we’d made. It was a diesel Octavia sedan.

This one is basically a VW Passat or an Audi A6 in different clothing, so a dam good car.

So have we all been tricked then Pat? Whenever I ask about over the top safety stuff I get told it’s because of ‘american claim culture’
