Hi Bert!

The photographs of the ex Frans-Maas depot in Great Yarmouth I posted for you were taken one Sunday lunchtime; hence the yard being empty and no sign of any trucks!

As I said, the warehouse has only just finished being repainted and signed; the depot is still going strong under the new DSV banner.

The yard is now being shared by DSV and a local haulage company.

Just to confirm, the earlier photograph you were questioning is 100% Great Yarmouth and not Brownhills!

Regards, Pete

Hi Bert!

Don’t know if this would be of interest to you; it’s a model of a DAF XF95 4x2 with a tri-axle tilt trailer in the Frans Maas livery, an original model and now quite scarce!

Yep pretty sure that’s Yarmouth not Brownhills, spent many days and night in both depots many years back. Is it MDF who are using the yard in Yarmouth, they used to be based outside the gate?

I always remember the amount of drivers who couldn’t find the entrance to the Yarmouth depot, because the main gate is down a little lane off the industrial area.

Hi Muckles!

The photographs are of the ex Frans Maas site (now DSV) in Great Yarmouth as I took them myself in February of this year!!!

If you look at the photo I have posted below you can see the new DSV logo with the old Frans Maas logo underneath, this photo was taken just after OO09 had come out of the paintshop and was taken on 02-02-2009.

The yard has been and still is being shared with MDF Transport of Great Yarmouth who also have their own yard just outside the gates as you said.

You are also correct in saying that a lot of drivers had trouble in locating the Frans Maas site and now it’s drivers looking for the DSV site who have the same problem!!

Should anyone be wondering, the address is:- Munnings Court, Harfreys Road, Harfreys Industrial Estate, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk NR31 0LS.
