I have also 2 oldy’s from Frans Maas Groningen. It was the year 1982. One driver Richter Blauw put on the trailer and the second one an line up in 1982 from the DAF tractors.

It is indeed a dsv depot , we used to work from there when they took roadferry over , not anymore as they made cutbacks and subbies go first :cry:

Hi have only just joined on this site and been looking thru the Frans Maas forum as i used to work in the warehouse at Brownhills. It’s been good to see some old photo’s such as Alex ■■■■■■■ (RIP) Scania and step frame trailer and Hutch’s old truck from Yarmouth. I left the warehousng and went driving trucks after passing my test and was back in FM B’hills in one of Roadways Scania’s in Frans Maas colours. The rental trailer from CTR was that from your Company of from Frans maas U.K. Did you also drive with Frans Maas trailers at that time? We change in that time always the trailers by Frans Maas Groningen. :laughing: Did yoy came to the main land of Europe of always in the U.K.?

yes we pulled frans maas trailers aswell, we did a lot of work out of fasson,s factory in newcastle but we mainly had our own trailers rented from ctr newcastle, we used to back load out of groningen sometimes but it was normally barkers transport from chester-le-street that was on that run kristiansen and jarvis was nearly always france then down into italy then back load out of italy. we also had a mercedes 2448 that was painted in FM colours.

Good to reed that you not always was in the U.K. I was never by Frans Maas in the U.K. but i been ones in Newcastle. That was before i was truckdriver. I was in the early 70’s an mate on an Dutch coaster. :sunglasses: In 1973 i was plenty times in the U.K. most in the South part. In 2004 i was 5 days in Londen for an holiday. :laughing: That was the last time i been to the U.K… Maybe as we retired over 6 years we visit the U.K. :wink:

Do you have pictures at that time end of the 80’s? on the way to Italy or the Mercedes 2448 teractor?
