they do my head in only brain dead drivers tailgate
Really Clever.
No, he is right. It makes them slam on and wobble all over the place. But it definatley stops them hogging your rear end !!

OTOH, everytime there’s video footage on the news of busy motorways, HGVs leave bigger gaps than cars in L3.
ROG:
I like counting the number of lane lines between the vehicles to see what gap they leave in this type of footage - providing that I can accertain the speeds of course
Dunno then?:
You need a hobby!!!
got one thanks - lane line counting
Newly painted ones - get 2 points each for those
Tailgating is illegal, punishable by a fine and points.
When in a company vehicle you are flying the flag for that company.
It is dangerous.
You are supposed to be a professional driver.
Tailgating is stupid full stop !!! no doubt about it whatsoever

have only had two endorsements in 20 odd years. Both for speeding, one by speed camera, the other by hair dryer. Were they within the last 5 years
george3:
it’s about time you noticed the speed trucks run at on main A roads. Not noticing can only mean your the one in front creating the traffic jam.Same question as before - are you advocating that if the one in front is doing the legal speed then that driver should risk their licence for those that want to drive illegally (not necessarily unsafely) behind them
One final question to bring this back onto the original topic -
If you feel that you are being ‘held up’ by the driver who is at the legal speed limit, do you advocate that driving too close (tailgating), because you feel aggrieved, is a reasonable safe response
There’s a big difference between what should be and what is.
Your talking what should and I’m talking what is.
You go out on any main road, A5, A6, any national trunk route and 99% of trucks are running at 50 whenever poss Very few if any run at 40.

‘…And don’t talk about MP’s or democracy. We don’t have a democracy, other than a 5yr option on the next dictator and “all” MP’s are useless…’
- I wasn’t ‘…talking…’ - it’s a www forum, numpty.
- You voted for the MP’s - you’ve got what you deserve.
- You’'re also wrong in millions of ways throughout your rant - so I’m not bothering with you…
I didn’t vote for this lying, thieving shower of Sh we got at the moment. I voted for them in 1997 but as soon as that evil barsteward Blair robbed £4 million off the tax payer to pay for two private parties, then excepted a £1 million bribe of Bernie Ecclestone to renege on a manifesto commitment, I give up.

Whether the trucks are doing 40 or 50 on a SC is not the real question - the question is -

That wasn’t the thread question.
But to answer “your” question.
NO I don’t.
The first post was a newbie complaining about being tailgated. I put it down to him driving around as if he was still on his test. But being a newbie, he probably doesn’t know what to look for to stay safe.
Most drivers drive at the speed the road dictates and in safety terms, large sections of national roads are good for 50.

I agree, yes it was, and he asked why, which lead to the question of why anyone would tailgate him no matter what the reason for his speed.
Hence my question to your good self
george3:

Yes they are which is why I said that anyone who drives safely but over the legal limit is up to them - it’s their licence at risk - but I do not condone it.
