Sorry but wouldn’t mind knowing the answer now the subject has been brought up.

It was answered in the 4th post.

I hope this helps. :stuck_out_tongue:

I believe companies who use them also play up the fact that they are quieter, and therefore better for the environment, and to be honest they do have a point.

They’ve never really caught on though.

I reckon stagedriver is being fraped this is his second oddball thread ive seen in recent days

Pulleyns also adopt the underslung fridge unit to the existing bulkhead unit, as a just in case scenario.

You guys need to understand that you need to get down with the kids because the future is ours and not old people’s. :sunglasses:

a fridge trailer is allowed to be slightly wider, and slightly longer than a conventional trailer.
so in theory you could get more payload in the trailer by using up the room normally taken up by the front mounted fridge unit.
you will need some extra long jump leads though.

Silver_Surfer:
It’s so they don’t have any coupling accidents with drivers getting crushed by the fridges at the front.

Underslung fridges are pretty carp I think as they get corroded by road salt and are generally a pita.

Bucky, it’s great.

is that like a delectable tench?

Getting back to the subject also Waitrose have them, mind you it might be quiter having a night out with the fridge running. :bulb:

Seeing as Morrisons and Waitrose run day cabs I think the noise of the fridge motor might be the least of your troubles on a night out.

a fridge trailer is allowed to be slightly wider.

its 2.55m width for a reefer, compared to 2.5m for a conventional trailer. So its not a huge difference.

fink ov da chilldrun …

Asked fridge engineer at bellshill depot and he says they d had couple of incidents where trailer has went over on its nose when its on bay getting loaded. The front mounted fridges are all ex safeway which they acquired in the buyout in 2004.Every new morrisons fridge is underslung.
