Hunting for Warberers

There is no shortage it’s just an excuse to attract new drivers and increase prices. I’m currently not getting 5 shifts a week due to no work and I’m not a agency driver.

It’s to get everyone panic buying and then you will see shortages due to people stocking piling.

You can still order from Amazon and have next day delivery so I don’t see how xmas can be ruined.

We will soon find out next week when the xmas decorations and treats go on sale.  I haven’t seen many shortages but have seen some…cat litter…cat food etc… everything else seems fine.

Waberer’s not keen on UK relaxing Cabotage rules:

Roland Hegyesi, commercial director at Waberer’s: “Currently, driver shortage is peaking in England, but the whole of Europe is struggling with the problem. Therefore, if we allocated our resources and used our existing fleet to serve England, it would cause similar symptoms in other markets as the crisis now in Britain,”
“If Waberer’s or any other carrier starts to tie up its capacity with UK domestic transportations, it will not be able to serve its customers in other markets, so this is not a solution for any parties. Moreover, I think the crisis in England is unmanageable in the short term and will continue to deteriorate during the peak season as demand rises,”

It’s strange how these supermarket food shortages only seem to affect the shops that Remoaners use.

Good point Harry  :

“WHO?? has warned that supermarket shelves could stay empty in the months ahead, sparking fears of shortages in the run-up to Christmas”
yorkshirepost.co.uk/read-th … es-3388812
Who knew? Johnson is a Remoaner, then?

Yea because like we all see truck drivers every day who look like starving Biafran children. :unamused: :unamused: :unamused:

Does it? I voted leave and have noticed since January that certain products no longer stocked, or quality of things not as before. The sooner people realise that they’ve been sold a lie the sooner problems can be fixed, and I’m not talking about rejoining the EU

I’ll offer you a challenge. You go on Morrisons’ website and select any six items of your choosing which are normally in stock in a Morrisons supermarket, and list them here.

I’ll go to Morrisons tomorrow morning and see how many of them are in stock. I will buy them, photograph them along with the till receipt and post the photo here.

If all six items are in stock you have to pay for them. I’ll PM you my PayPal address.

If just one item is out of stock I will post whatever I do manage to buy to you free of charge and at my own expense. They will be yours to keep, so choose items you actually want.

Deal or no deal?

I do a weekly shop in Lidls for Olives, Pasta and Euro basics - they’ve only had butter, cheeses & fresh Orange Juice about once in the last 2 months.

All the rest I get in local shops - I haven’t been in Morrisons for 6 Months, Tescos about 10 years, Sainsbury’s about twice since it opened - so I’ll decline your offer.

I do have a mate who stacks shelves in Morrisons who keeps me up to date with the shortages, I can hijack him if you like

Ok, so that’s a “No” then. When given the choice you chose to get off the pot.

Fair enough. You and your fellow travellers can keep posting photographs of supermarkets taken at night showing shelves which have been cleared for deep-cleaning or freezers which have suffered power outages and pretending that we are all on the brink of mass starvation. Supermarket workers, even those who voted “Remain” have pointed this out over and over again but of course “Project Fear” isn’t interested in truth or logic.

If you are a truck driver, enjoy the post-Brexit increase in pay. If you aren’t then bog off.

I do admire a cunning and well thought out ambush. Salut.

I do believe Mr Monk is saying that we drivers have a pay rise because of Brexit?

If your shop is well stocked, does that mean WS`s shop, and every shop must also be well stocked?
If you see no shortage, does that mean there is no shortage anywhere?

I think that’s EXACTLY where this challenge thread began. With WS asking Harry where he, as a leaver shops.

I can quite happily agree with that.
I dont accuse Harry Monk of being in any way dishonest when he says he hasnt seen shortages.

He does however seem to think his own experience must be universally duplicated elsewhere?

Harry has seen no shortages.
WS and others have seen shortages.
Do shortages exist?

Ive never seen New York.....I dont think the USA doesn`t exist because of that!

There hasn’t…

Been any fresh Basil in my local Co-op for some time now.

S’bout it.

I think maybe that’s the absolute crux of it. People who voted leave shop in different shops than people who voted remain. Possibly because they are more eurocentric. Enjoying a more continental taste. And it’s exactly that, that is being impacted by Brexit. Just a thought…

So, Arkwright and Granville, premier retailers of Balby, aren`t being impacted too heavily? Good stuff.
