Hull ferry

Off to Rotterdam on Monday, where do I check in for the ferry with freight. Looked on google maps and can only see car and coach terminal??
Cheers

Go on to the docks as normal from the a63, then at the first roundabout take the 2nd exit, as you leave the roundabout there is a right turn take it, that where I’ve seen all the self drive freight traffic go through to book on and Que

As above. When you’ve pulled off the A63 and go up to the next roundabout there’s a big sign telling you what goes where. There’s then another sign after the first exit that says freight traffic and ABP Cold Store pointing to go up the second exit. Then once you’ve gone up there there’s a sign telling you where to go for accompanied and unaccompanied freight. The accompanied freight you just keep following your nose up the road.

Its all well signed. You have to work really hard to get lost.

When on that road, it’s a right turn into the freight terminal, then choose from two lanes that say Accompanied Freight. They ask you how heavy you are and what you are carrying (I usually guess the weight!). Then when through that booth, there is another barrier to check passports almost straight away.

Then straight on, left at a little roundabout, you will then see bridge up to the Ferry on the right. If there is no queue and space, turn right and wait on the bridge. Otherwise straight on, loop around back on yourself and join the queue.

When you get to the top, they will either wave you on, and you go up a ramp, watch for the mirror sandwich, very tight!
Or ask you to pull around to the right and then back down the other ramp to the lower deck.

When off at Rotterdam, there is a fuel stop that has a truck park almost straight away ?Q8 and you can get the Benelux vignette there if needed, or online in advance.

Very decent food in the truckers lounge BTW.
You get two cards; one is your room key and the other is the meal voucher.
TIP - when you come BACK, you MUST keep hold of the one that says Gate Key as they ask for that to get back into UK. (They don’t ask for it leaving Europoort)
Enjoy the trip!

Thanks all. Got it now.

Whats a mirror sandwich when its at home ■■?

Stand sideways between 2 lorries and you will be touching both lorries without trying.

When you go up the ramp, your mirror starts over the hand rail (bottom arrow). As you get up the ramp you realise it will hit the top deck so adjust. By time you have done that on both sides you have about 2 inches between mirror and metalwork on both sides for a few feet. Get it wrong and you make a mirror sandwich and lose the mirror

If you can park in Rotterdam, there is a frequent train service to Amsterdam if you fancy some window shopping.
