Have they closed down ?
not all HSF,only at Barendrecht, 2 days notice, had phone call yesterday, i was on bedworth haulage side, I’ve just been made redundant, no other position in hsf or bedworth offered.
I get the impression it’s just the Barendrecht depot closing down although if that depot isn’t profitable, it doesn’t say too much for the rest of the group
Think this is only the fruit and veg, these are the lorry’s that are liveried in green rather than the blue, plus their main depot is in Nijmegen, Barendrecht is a large fruit and veg export centre. As for the rest of the group struggling I doubt it they will just replace the Poles with Bg and Ro in the same way that they got rid of all the UK drivers when the Eu expanded

how many others lost their jobs at bedworth haulage
HSF are prolific in the south west of England right down to west cornwall. Not sure what they are hauling. Meat I would imagine.

If I’m ever on the A30 in Cornwall I always see a fair few of them so they must have something big on down that way.
There’s always loads parked up at transmark in calais

HSF took the hanging meat contract from us a couple of years ago. Tulip at Bodmin was one of the daily drops.

After seeing a picture of how they cross load hanging meat, I don’t think they’ll have it much longer

What does it matter where the trailer is regestered it will still be being pulled by the same truck regardless . They also have British reg trucks pulling Dutch regestered trailers . All trailers that are sent unocompanied thru Dutch ports have to be regestered somewhere that’s why you see no English ones as we don’t regestered trailers in the uk .

How long has that being so? We used to send the occasional unaccompanied trailer to Rotterdam that was British so had no seperate registration. I can’t think exactly when would be the last time I know of it happening but I’ve been in Canada since 2009 so certainly before then.

Not sure if its relevant but all our trailers are registered aboard. Lots of Dutch reg plates too. I work for a large Nordic shipping company.
