Research done in America………

Yeah ok!

Actually quite an interesting article to read, I am sure it is factural. This could affect any one of us and the earlier it is detected like all things, more chance of something could be done about it.

But of course as pointed out by our esteemed Grumpy it’s done in America and we all know of course Americans aren’t human and a different species entirely so obviously not at all relevant :unamused:

Personally I don’t want to know if I’m in the first stages of Alzheimer’s or not , when it gets bad I’ll worry , up until then I’d rather enjoy the time I feel ok , rather than spending my days worrying what’s comming

The cynic in me wonders who funded this research…

Too much mention of insurance companies, and black boxes. Insurance companies are looking at any excuse to either increase premiums, or avoid paying out on claims. A black box that shows that in the 12 months before your accident you have started driving slower, and took a few detours or not driven as far as before… you should have gone to a doctor, and now your insurance is void. Or halfway through your insurance period, you get a letter from your insurance company, telling you that ‘due to data from your recorder’, we require you to visit our doctor, or your insurance will be cancled. Too far fetched? After the last 18 months, you think that is too far fetched? We have cameras in trucks, for “lower insurance premiums”. How long before we get them in cars? How long before they become mandatory?

Very good points

‘Gets’ bad?

I can sort of understand you saying that you would rather not know whats coming, but if you could have it sorted out as it was caught early, surely that is preferable to the head in the sand stance. Valid points from the other poster with suspicious reasons for the study to be commissioned but I think anything medical is generally done with good intent. I thought of developing a sat nav that not only tells you how to get to a destination but to tell you why you have gone there when you arrive.
