So, I’ve had my medical and got my theory tests booked so fingers crossed it won’t be long till I’m out on the road in a shiny new truck! But I have a question and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
At the moment I work as a taxi driver and want to know if, say I got work with an agency when I pass, 3 days a week, would I then be able to work 3 other days on the taxis to top up my weekly wages? And if so would it have to go down on my tacho card as other work, or would I be breaking wtd or some drivers hours law?

Taxi work counts as other work for EU tacho regs so cannot be counted as rest
Taxi work and LGV driving are separate types of WTDs and do not get added together
Generally you could do 5 days of work one week and 6 days the next to comply with weekly rest rules

So i may as well get my car re-plated as a taxi when the current license runs out just in case I only get sporadic agency jobs to start with on the LGV’s.
meanwhile back on planet earth…keep your cards legal,and keep the rest of it to yourself…who is ever going to know or care what you do when youve pulled your card…thats called reality.
I’ve done some agency work weekends and bank hols, it’s very sporadic that they have something when I’m free.
Ref the cards yes watch your days off, I was told to use the ? when putting my tacho in to explain the long breaks between driving.
