my mate is working for a company that supplies filters to the motor trade hes asked how he would find out how many goods vehicles are on our roads here in the uk an overall figure and individual eg scania, volvo, merc etc any ideas where this info can be found?
cheers
There’s a site called something like how many left or something.
Use that and search for LGV manufacturers.
Or go through VOSAs website and count the number of o licences. Might take a while
gov.uk/government/uploads/s … 3-2013.pdf
> “There were 35.2 million vehicles licensed for use on the roads in Great Britain on 30 September 2013. Of these vehicles, 29.2 million were cars”
Leaves 6 million other registered vehicles to include coaches, buses, motorbikes, vans below 3.5tonnes, vans up to 3.5tonnes, vehicles up to 7.5tonnes and HGV vehicles.
Hope that gives you a rough idea.
I remember reading somewhere that in 2010 that there were round about 500,000 (give or take) HGV vehicles over 7.5tonnes. Yet they still get blamed for all the congestion
