How would an agency driver go on the dole?

I never quite grasped this whole work 16 hr thing and still get Jobseekers, Say Im on the usual Jobseekers and get £65 a week, what if a agency offers me 8hours work at £7hr which is £56 how much in total do I get ? Is it £56 for the work + my dole of £65 in a week or if less how is it calculated ?

I thought if you sign on and get a job you arent alloud to sign on again for 6months ?

If you earned that much you would get nothing

Wrong…

As already stated, you get £5 of your declared earnings then £ for £ took off the dole, so, on that exampe, you’d get £70, £56 off your work + £14 dole.

The reason a lot of people do that though, is for other benefits, dental, prescriptions, council tax etc etc.

I’ve also bounced on and off using the rapid reclaim system during jan / feb of this year, never had a problem being signed on multiple agencies, so it’s bull whoever said that you can’t claim as you’re ‘employed by the agency’

ok Im getting it now, have to forgive me Im abit slow

so you get the £56 for work + £14 from the dole = £70 in total, so in fact your no better off as you get £65 sitting on your a*S :unamused:

I know you get rent and council tax etc but then you can also get that sitting on your a**

I think my best option would be wait for the work to pick up with the firm Im with and in mean time sign on, and when I get a full week then sign off ? But if I then had a quite week of 1day how long does it take to get the dole money with a rapid request form ?

It used to be the case that you had to be “available for work during the working week” to sign on. That applied to Monday - Saturday; so you could work on Sunday and still claim.
