DoYouMeanMe?:
One guy I know had his first digital display reefer and set it at 25. Should have been -25! Half cooked the load on the way to Paris. Very easy mistake to make.
A guy I know took a full load of bananas to Sweden on -25.
Oops!!

I’ve finally been able to afford the little hands free camera so this issue will be the subject of a video shortly.

1. If you’re running a multi-compartment trailer but you need the whole trailer set to, eg +2, ask a knowledgeable bod which of the available fridges are best to use (you’ll likely not need all three running at -22, for instance).
This is to avoid individual fridges ‘fighting’ - which, as I understand it, is when one tries to cool it too low & another compensates by going over. It’s possible for the fridge motor to get horribly noisy as the overall temperature fluctuates unsatisfactorily all over the place.
When running single compartment, our three compartment trailers run best with number two shut-off - since leaving it on really confuses numbers 1 & 3.
2. If it’s on D/F (de-frost, should the internal gubbins be iced-up and it’s calming itself down), it may help you to knock off the whole lot & turn it straight back on again to get an idea what temp’ it’s actually running at (though this activity will be recorded should the data be pulled by those that care and/or know how to do it).
**3.**Is the temperature taking ages to drop in hot weather? I’ve helped it down but hosing up into the fridge radiator/heat exchanger.
**4.**Is the customer not happy with what temp’ a dodgy temp’ indicator panel displays? Suggest to them that they probe the product with their infra-red thermometer gizmo. I also suggest that I’'m only the driver/operator doing my best and don’t need their hassle for my employers erratic, broken or clapped out equipment, etc.
**5.**If you get an ‘ambient’ load, ask if they mean ‘ambient’ or if +12 is expected - like one of our suppliers does (Muppets!).

In the circumstances of 1 we just run the front one, it’s usually most powerful. But then our multi temp don’t have the middle condenser.

chilled anywhere between 0 and 14 degrees.
Would not buy anything chilled over 8C. That is maximum for chilled, over 8C is produce.
My first time pulling fridges to Spain was a very steep learning curve…
I had to tip shoes in Coslada(Madrid) then down to load in Murcia, all good so i head to Tereul for the night (in the fridge pulling world i found out night=EARLY HOURS) all good
until i get up in the morning and heard…nothing
oh dear that`s not good OH GOD THE FRIDGE HAS RUN OUT OF FUEL
Head for Zaragoza for help (after filling fridge with red) i find a Irish fridge (Mcguires) and ask the very helpful driver for help, after alot of fettling etc the fridge wouldn`t restart
Head for (i think) Thermoking in Bordeaux for technical help (SORTED) and eventually arrive in Boston to tip but unfortunately the load is shot (not suprised really)
