HOW TO SHORTEN http:// LINKS & USE QUOTES

Explanation of how to use quotes and how to break up quotes so that each section of a quote can be answered seperately. There are 2 ways you can do this.

So here goes -

The first way:

Click ‘Reply’ which then opens an empty text box.
Put the cursor in the text box where you wish the quote to be.

Scroll down a bit and there is another box with it’s own scroll bar on the right. this allows for scrolling to previous posts in the thread with the latest post being at the top.

Find the post you wish to quote from.
Highlight the text you wish to quote and then click the ‘Quote’ tab that is in that particular post.

The text you highlighted along with the author of that text will now appear in the top text box starting from where you left the cursor.

This process can be done as many times as you like and you can use quotes from various posts in that thread.

The A B C D of checking before posting …

A - To check what it looks like before committing it to the public, click PREVIEW at the bottom of the page.
B - If you are happy with it then click SUBMIT.
C - If not happy with it, then scroll down the the message box where you were compiling the post and change what you want.
D - See A

The second way:

When clicking the QUOTE tab on another post it shows like this -

MEMBER:
Did I do this
Did I do that
Are you sure I did

What is actually written when you quote is this -

MEMBER:
Did I do this
Did I do that
Are you sure I did

In order to show you this, a space (which should not be there) has been put between the word quote and the = bit

To break up the quote and attribute each bit to MEMBER is done like this -
Again, in order to show you this, a space (which should not be there) has been put between the word quote and the = bit

MEMBER:
Did I do this

MEMBER:
Did I do that

MEMBER:
Are you sure I did

This was done the easy way by copying

MEMBER:
and then pasting it before each seperate section.
The

bit was then copied and pasted at the end of each seperate section

This shows the seperate sections like this -

MEMBER:
Did I do this

MEMBER:
Did I do that

MEMBER:
Are you sure I did

Each of the seperate sections can now be seperated by clicking just after each
[/quote]
bit by using the ‘Enter’ key on the PC keyboard and the writing a reply for each section in the spaces created below each one.

Again, in order to show you this, a space (which should not be there) has been put between the word quote and the = bit
Like this -

MEMBER:
Did I do this

Yes you did :exclamation:

MEMBER:
Did I do that

Yes, you did that as well :exclamation: :exclamation:

MEMBER:
Are you sure I did

Positive

In reality, it looks like this -

MEMBER:
Did I do this

Yes you did :exclamation:

MEMBER:
Did I do that

Yes, you did that as well :exclamation: :exclamation:

MEMBER:
Are you sure I did

Positive
