iv done it myself,never made the media

Happens to all of us. I got wedged between 2 buildings in puigcerda, Spain. Had to get their power people out then the policia locale reversed me right up the wrong side of the street through town to get me out.
You don’t feel bad about it and rightly so. I hear that my Puigcerda wedgie was featured in the My Mistake thing in Trucking a while ago. Early last year I think.
We should, at least, own up to our mistakes. If we don’t, someone else will do it for us!!
Thanks everyone it was a case of put it on here before one of the other drivers did.
The locals were great considering I had just closed their village. WPC was running because she didn’t realise I couldn’t see her.
Have come to the conclusion that before doing anything check at least twice (if not more).

Happened to me once in the middle of Newark-on-Trent. Was driving an 18 tonner on agency for Fashion Logistics at the time and was trying to deliver to Mothercare on Middle Gate. Problem was there was a disable badged car parked on the corner at the end where it meets Kirk Gate and I couldn’t get round the corner. After a few shunts I thought I could make it, but I didn’t see the overhang on the building 12ft up on the offside and got the truck wedged against it .
Happens to us all mate, although the vast majority don’t have to guts to admit it and will have you believe that they’ve never had an accident in their working life. 
Your boss should be applauded for his attitude. Sounds like the kind of bloke drivers would be happy to work for. Makes a refreshing change .
Happened to me in Tangiers one evening ; it was dark & the trailer leaned against a wall & a massive shower of sparks came down on me.It had cut through a big cable on the wall. All the lights went out in the street, tv’s stopped & a collective moan went up all around me because they were all cooking the evening meal. They thought it was a power cut ( They got that right ! ) so I reversed out & never went back!!!
Another lorry arrived to tow the stricken vehicle away and the road was cleared at 1.30pm.
