4,000 LUXURY BMWs FOR OLYMPIC VIPs: OCCUPY PARK LANE
The Olympic authorities are to ship 4,000 brand-new luxury vehicles in from Germany to ■■■■■■ dignitaries and officials staying around Park Lane hotels for the Olympics.
Plush: A BMW 3 Series. The enormous fleet will include more than 3,000 BMW 3 and 5 Series saloons
However, traffic should not be a problem for the VIPs who will cruise along specially reserved ‘games lanes’ running all the way from Park Lane to the olympic stadium at stratford. ONE OLYMPICS FOR THEM — ANOTHER ONE FOR US. The cars will have special technology to change traffic lights to green on approach and red on departure.
It is obvious that the terrain of struggle during the Olympics will not be at the sports venues but in Park Lane where all the bigwigs will be staying — getting good view of OCCUPY HYDE PARK? An ideal opportunity to show disparities in wealth and work with the taxi dfrivers already planning to block VIP routes. OCCUPY PARK LANE!
Canary Wharf and the Royal Docks are being prepared for dozens of billionaires’ super yachts to dock, with charges ranging from £2,000 to £11,000 a day. Part of the services provided will be speedboats to take the elite directly to the Olympic park along the River Thames. Mark Upton, director of the yacht advisory company MGMT, explained, “We have Michelin-starred chefs who can come and cook for you, plus personal shoppers, helicopters, tailors and jewellers on stand-by.”
Why they couldn’t use Jaguars beats me, Indian owned ( but apt in a way 'cos half of the Indian continents natives are here as it is) but at least British built. Railway locos springs to mind.
Better build quality as well than BMW
at least they will get blown up, while everyone else is stuck in traffic.
it’s a terrorist magnet. i for one won’t be anywhere nere the stupid olympic waste of money.
I had been pro Olympics as it pretty much kept my old firm from going bust in 08 when the credit crunch struck and I know a few firms the same but none of my ticket selections came through or did anyone I knows so I couldn’t care less now.
I know it’s going to be chaos for drivers but atleast at should bring some cash in.
Seems wrong to me, all those that live and work in London being inconvenienced for some wealthy knobs pleasure. Trouble is all those living and working in London are paying, via taxes to be inconvenienced. What sort of democracy is that? I can only hope that a swarm of superfleas manifests itself in the underpants of all those partaking in this waste of taxpayers money.
It’s BMW because they are a big sponsor and supply the vehicles. It’s about money. And they are driven by volunteers, I volunteered myself but wasn’t chosen.
All i can say is thank ■■■■ i dont work in london you’re a brave trucker if you take on a shift during the games, personally i would just stick in a 2 week holiday line right now
