How thick are some drivers

adam277:
I think the biggest issue with CPC is the drivers lol.

They say it is useless and pointless while at the same time making no effort to engage in it.

I say that as someone who thinks CPC ■■■■■ as well.

This. Yeah you might not like having to do it but go into it determined to get something from it and you will. Go into it determined to hate it and you will.

Like I stated, the cycling proficiency was sacked off years ago. Cycling on a playground around a few cones hardly prepared kids for the real world, not dissimilar to the current box ticking DCPC with all of its many flaws.

It wasn’t, it just changed its name

robbo99.:
I welcome your acknowledgment of the DCPC issues and I may be mistaken and I’m sure you will put me right if I am but I have yet to see the language issue addressed by any DCPC advocate, though you have attempted to, I must confess your reply doesn’t give me any confidence still in the shambolic DCPC.

You’ll never have confidence in Driver CPC, you have set your opinion probably years ago and it wont be changed so I’ve no interest in flogging that dead horse.

robbo99.:
Any compulsory “training” that allows a non English speaking candidate to be professionally competent without understanding the content is beyond belief.

It doesn’t allow it, it isn’t allowed but unfortunately robust checks haven’t been implemented.

So just to state once more, the cycling proficiency was sacked off years ago.

Hmmmm, and you’re confident you can keep up with changes to the legislation & job?

And you royaly swallowed the bait, bikeability is NOT the cycling proficiency, just for your benefit that was sacked off years ago, bikeability is a completely different concept with differing levels of achievement. And you teach candidates facts, don’t make me laugh. If you had read my post that you responded to, you would see I was referring to the past, ie the cycling proficiency.

Whatever you say chap

switchlogic:
Whatever you say chap

And maybe the DCPC high hierarchy could learn a lesson or three from the sacking off of the cycling proficiency and evolving it into a worthwhile training scheme.

I’m just scratching my head wondering what these robust checks you speak of are which haven’t been implemented regarding one’s ability to speak English.

Surely a basic standard of English would be assessed by the “trainer” and if sub standard then the “trainer” sacks the candidate off just like they can do now if the candidate falls asleep through sheer boredom or is not engaging in the course.

Doesn’t seem like rocket science to me.

I agree with you and you’re still desperate for an argument. Give it a rest chap, it’s a bit boring.

No argument needed, it’s a chat forum. I pointed out many moons ago of a DCPC I attended with a participant who spoke next to no English. From that point forward on here people seemed to fudge my questioning of the merits of that situation, all I have done is constantly pushed for people connected to DCPC to explain.

You post, I question, I post, you question that’s how it works.

Maybe instead of being called the Certificate Of Professional Competency, which sounds very flash, in its current format maybe it should be called Certificate of just turn up then my beef would be unfounded!

I have also had this happen. :grimacing:

I trust you both filled out the consultation questionnaire before the deadline.

switchlogic:

Of course I did!

switchlogic:
I trust you both filled out the consultation questionnaire before the deadline.

Don’t be silly, that would be far too constuctive, it’s so much easier to do this

So which part of “of course I did!” are you struggling with?

What does that even mean? Why would I be getting responses to a government consultation?

You took me saying ‘they’ as meaning you? And people accuse me of having an ego  Believe it or not ‘they’ in this context refers to those holding the consultation, I.e the government.
