Interesting video
Twist in the strap does without a shadow of doubt stop the vibrating/purring noise that ■■■■■■ me off.
Very interesting, the very small difference between one twist and a straight strap isnt worth worrying about, it could be a manufacturing error.
I used to take winch cables to a local test house for destructive testing, its really interesting to watch them do it and the damage they could cause if they hit you.
Excellent find.

I was following a flatbed south on the A1M the other day, he had that solid form insulation boards strapped on. Over the course of a minute or so, first his two strap shoulder supports flew out, then the ratchet handle side of strap unhooked, flaying around. It occurred just as we entered some roadworks.
The ratchet handle then hit two cones, knocking them across the carriageway. The driver at last, either saw me flashing him or saw the flaying strap and pulled in amongst the cones to sort it out.
If that strap was fastened on the offside, it could quite easily hit another vehicle with dire consequences. Or if there were workmen in the roadworks, it could have been fatal. Having delivered this stuff in a curtainsider, I know how hard it is to secure, but made me think!

The only other way is 2 ratchets per strap .
