You forgot the 15/30 on the derv pumps… lol
Currently lying in the bunk so I don’t cut up the job. It’s ■■■■■■ torture!!
No need to do that just drop the speed down to 85kph, take an extra 5 minutes on 45 minute breaks, do full walkround checks, give the truck a quick wash when you get back to the yard. I lose 20 minutes a day just by driving a truck with a limiter at 85kph compared to one set at 90kph.
i really fail to see why drivers have this mentality of it takes x amount of time for a job!
with traffic etc it takes what YOU want it too, the odd times i do drive or when i have previously i work to do what suits me best not another driver or the union end of.
Well lat shift ,fri, they changed the job and start time
,motor packed up ,everything else that could go wrong went wrong ,start 12.30, finished 3am ,14.5 hrs
,I’m going too bed
OK then mate let me run this past you, I’ll try and keep it simple for you and it’s based on years of experience in the haulage industry.
So after you have totally ■■■■■■ ed the job up for yourself and your fellow drivers, and your boss sees you going home x no. of hours early he,s gonna say "dozy’s a great guy he’s shaved 2 hours of the job, he’s due a pay raise’’
OR he could even say…
‘‘Why are we paying that dozy ■■■■ 15 hours for 12 hours work, get him to drop that other box off at xxxxxx that’s a 3 hour run, I don’t pay drivers for sitting on their arses at home’’
See if you can select the most likely option
Come on mate tell me you are on a wind up, if only for the reason that nobody could be that thick in reality…Could they ?
Just thinking dozy mate, didn’t you come on here before with this bs about spending 2 hours in the pub after you had also ■■■■■■ ed another job up, then a week later come on bleating about how the workload had changed and you didn’t know why.
. I’m sure if somebody could be arsed to look back (I can’t) it’s on here somewhere.
As I’ve said before on here You can’t educate pork
Sounds like a handy number, I can’t understand why you would ruin it just so you can go and ■■■■ it up in the pub.

It’s what we have always been up against in this job, intellectually challenged bellend type ‘drivers’ spoiling the job for proper drivers.
One of the reasons we were all on relatively more money 10yrs ago to what we are on now.
Saying that, still think he’s on a wind up.
Conor, Switchlogic and Robroy are spot on. Regarding the comments from Robroy, put me down for a tenner on the second option!!
Newark to Felixstowe is a good 150 miles. If you can do it there and back on a Friday in eight hours, you are obviously working through your break and speeding. Good on you! Everyone loves a hero! And you will cop for it every week!
I’ve seen too many driver’s doing this and they never last long at a place. They start at a company and are saying that it’s “a better job than the last one because they kept piling the work on me on a Friday.”
Then after a few weeks/months, the same guy is complaining that “the office a taking the p*** piling all this work on. I’m off as soon as.”

+1, Ironic how those that want to screw the job up come unstuck from time to time.
Don’t get me wrong I’m all for doing the job to suit your own requirements but in the end if you can shave an hour or two off with luck thats great…In this case you appeared to set yourself a challenge to be unpopular…luckily for you it failed.

Daft question because, as you discovered, things often don’t got to plan…
My tuppence worth… fxto to Newark averages 3hrs with a clear run 45 minute break 15 mins checks either end = 7 hrs 15 mins if and its a big if you can get in and out of the docks in 45 minutes well yeah it’s doable. Now bearing in mind you’ve got to use the A14 which is the biggest pita at any time of day and then your at the mercy of the FDRC workers moods on any given day, I’d plan on 10 hrs and grin if I managed that. 8 yrs in Fxto now and I don’t even attempt to box on or off unless I’ve got an hour left and even then it’s a risk and have had to be rescued…!!!
We pretty much allow 2 hours for the dock but it can be done in 30 minutes even with a tip & turn.
Probably should have mentioned this earlier but was hoping dozy would come unstuck…
I’ve alsorun out of hours on the dock and buggered off even when on me peg and crane on the same row… bollox to em.
Simple phone call to inform HQ I’m going to cancel me VBS and come back in the morning.
Sods law is when you have loads of time your done quick when your a bit tight the ticket has ‘THA’ on it then its squeeky bum time.

What I want to know is did dozy get paid for 14.5 hours or did he just get paid for 10?
