I was browsing the vacancies on the interwebby thing.Manpower want class2 drivers for R.M at Perth the pay rate is £8.00 -£10.00.There are also vacancies for class1 on £10- £12.00.Driver hire want tipper drivers in Glenrothes at £10.00.Or you could do child minding at Auchterarder working in hotels at £10.00 per hour.We risk our lives and the wrath of DVSA every time we go to work ,childminding might be a more attractive option.
Are we suggesting here “Think of the Children” and “Think of the ££££” in the same paragraph…
bloody dog walkers get £10ph down our way, mind you that could be a sh***ty job lol if they bother to clean up.
You’re right a child minder doesn’t risk the wrath of its parents, screaming kids, clearly up puke and other fun bodily fluids. Oh yeah, and they have to have qualifications and sit tests that take longer than 3 days too…
£10/hour for a fully qualified childminder is bloody cheap in my opinion. Bad example chief
My wife has been a childminder for the past 12yrs,she gets assessed by the care commission every year, she has to write activity reports on the kids, medicine lists to be kept etc etc,the red tape is unbelievable!.She can’t just bung them in front of the tv all day,any parent knows how much attention a kid needs, doubly so when its someone else’s precious bundle! I only have to go out and steer a wagon about,I know I’ve got the easier job

I suspect the reason that YOU risk your life and run the wrath of DVSA rather than minding kids is that typically driving a lorry you will work more hours in a day and therefore earn more money.
Maybe i’m wrong and shortly there will be a glut of big fat bearded guys wearing tartan shirts and wearing rigger boots minding kids !!
Better go back to the shelf stacking plan then.
its actually 7.5t work out of rm perth, no class 2 work comes from there its all edinburgh/glasgow or wishart
Why don’t people mind their own bloody kids? I brought mine up without state subsidies so why should I pay for other peoples?
After all I don’t even remember sleeping with them either so I had none of the ‘pleasure’ that usually comes with it.
I get £10 an hour doing handyman stuff some evenings/weekends. Rather be out on the roads. It’s ok but you run the risk of sawing your arm or something off.

So who pocketed the child benefit then? It used to be a universal state subsidy I thought.

Obviously home schooled as well then…
Traffic banks man was telling me he was on £11 an hour in Bristol, all he does is walk round the building site all day, clocking the Totty (city centre apartments) & backing the odd wagon in. There is an exam for this apparently, £11 per hour, on the agency mind but…
Minding a load of children a more attractive proposition than just driving around listening to the radio, chilling out drinking tea an RDC for 2 hours waiting to be unloaded etc.?
I disagree.
As for “risking our lives”… bit extreme.
