I was 17years 4 months when I passed my car test, 51 years 9months when I passed class 2, and 51 years 2 months when I passed class 1. I must say I thought myself in a fairly unique category at the time but looking on here, there seems to be quite a few ‘late-developers’. undoubtedly there will be those who mutter things about old dogs and new tricks, but, it seems that there’s many a tune in an old fiddle , the thing to keep in mind is to try and judge each case on it’s own merits. I’m so glad that I did what I did when I did, I’m not so sure that I’d be bothered with taking the driver CPC as well, which must add considerably to the financial commitment for those of us (most of us?) who put ourselves through HGV training
Many a good tune played on an old fiddle m8, not that I’d know, haven’ t had mine out in a while!

Well teatree you beat me. Bit stressful I found it at my age, how about you?
I was nervous doing the hazard perception, after driving a car for so long I was perceiving the hazards too soon, took me 3 goes to get it right.
Class 2 was fine, failed the first time for not making progress, OK second time.
Class 1 was a different kettle of fish, very stressed the first time as I didn’t have the reverse test mastered at all, I got there in the end though, thank goodness.
Since I’ve passed, every day is a learning day, trying to do improve on yesterday.
