Daventry:
I’m in the 1% of the sumary, I have been wondering how many are still driving, as from my own experience unless you have a good agency or employer it’s do the job or walk, I happened to tell my agency I only wanted short shifts ie 8hrs and they came back with the start time and hours I wanted.
I’m on a DHL contract using DDs at 44Gvw and I’m 74
Good on u m8,a few blokes who work along side me are late 60s and have no intentions in hanging their keys up,i asked one the other day when he was retiring and he looked at me shocked ,its a way of life to um and they run rings round the young uns with their work ethic and layed back attitude
Notice how the younger ones use more emoticons and don’t know how to spell or use punctuation or ■■■■, whilst the older ones know where to place commas and quote marks and ■■■■. Either way, don’t need to be able to read or rite wright right write to two too be able to drive a truck.
I’m now 49 and have the half century to not look forward to later on in the year, I don’t know wether I’m a saddo but I genuinely feel and act like a 40 year old and it’s only when I catch sight of myself in a mirror or photo I that realise I am in fact rapidly approaching 50.
