Not to mention the French also dip tanks in roadside checks, and their fines would make any punishment in Dover look like pocket change.
Harry my old mucker, I was only trying to be light hearted, but then this is āTHE FORUMā. so apologies
its not as if ive said i run red or i have posted the vehicle details or that i have even posted the dates we are traveling or even my name i was simply asking what they are like for dipping car tanks & the likley hood of bein dipped in eg a 2006 saab 93 so not exactly a stand out in the croud car

They smell it a mile away
Not worth the hassle for what 50 quid for a full tank.
The French just will love you, paying of their National debt in one go
Every car entering France. Will be relentlessly followed, by a Citroen Relay van(Similar French Vans are available) Each of these vans, is rammed full of dodgy diesel detecting sniffer dogs.
You wonāt stand a chanceā¦You have been warned. This REALLY helps.
iāve only had mine dipped in the uk when coming from, or going to ireland at the docks. but itās prety rare, and the car has never been dipped.
iāve never seen any cars getting dipped in france, plenty of searches though, they completely unload the cars.
seperate fuel tanks are the future.
I would say very very unlikley. Iāve never heard of this happening at Dover or any of the ports. Even if it does happen the odds willl be stacked in your favour, what i call lottery odds.
Dipping of tanks used to happen all the time in Cherbourg, dont know if it still does as been a few years since went through there.
