How not to claim extra shell point

Sparks were flying that day!!

Shell shock

What a bright spark

Shell shock

Agency :sunglasses:

Might be a while till he comes out of his shell

Driver probably looks smart in his shell suit :sunglasses:

Certainly no bright spark…

Stobart sub contractor.

Is that hose going to reach now?

Doesnt help having the fifth wheel set so high, seems to be a UK thing. Having no chassis plate would likely lower that by at least 10cm…

Yes. If only there was a height at which a truck would never hit an overhead obstacle. Say like, 4 meterz…

   The 4 metre crusade goes on

There are plenty of overhead structures, both old and new, that are lower than 4 metres…

It also doesn’t help the fact that the driver either (a) doesn’t know his trailer height (b) didn’t read what the canopy height is or (c) all of the above .

It doesn’t help that the canopy of a fuel station next to a busy trunk road is not high enough and that’s the same in some motorway service stations too.

Im not defending the driver, its entirely his fault just merely pointing out the fifth wheel height
My own has no chassis plate, the the bottom of the trailer is literally only a few cm above the tyres (open arches), its a SAF low profile fifth wheel, keeps the trailer as low as is possible.

4m though and it wouldnt have hit :stuck_out_tongue:

I came past this today, wondered who had hit it. Ive been in there to fill up hundreds of times over the years.
I made a point of looking and couldn’t see a height figure on the canopy and its only about 12 months old, was renewed!
If no height marked could the driver make an assumption that it was 16 feet plus??
