How much to valet a premium

Just started a newish job and being put in a premium 07 plate unfortunately it’s not being looked after inside and is very oily and grimmy in side on the bed and head linning ect as I like a nice clean truck and I’m a bit ocd when it comes to trucks want to know best way to clean it up a bit unfortunately the boss won’t pay for it same as parking it’s abit on the tight side including wages but I enjoy the work normally any advice would be good

Hot water and Fairy Liquid to get the grease and oil off.
Or some upholstery seat cleaner from Halfords.
Allow to dry with windows open or run the night heater.
Some Dettol to kill the bacteria. The footwells and inside the lockers.
Fabreeze will get rid of the bad smell.
A good vacumn in all the knooks and crannies for dust and debris.
Then add air fresheners.

Just get some good all purpose cleaner mixed 50/50 with warm water and give it a good scrub down and then dry it all off with microfibre cloths.

I once took over a truck that was that bad I just got some rubber gloves some star drops and loads of cleaning stuff and fired in to it…
After that it were like new,I hate dirty trucks and if I didn’t clean mine for 10yr it would not be as dirty as some trucks how they get in such a state baffles me :open_mouth:

Don’t do too good a job or they’ll stick you in another dirty truck until you clean that. Then another, then another.

I often wonder what sort of state a drivers house is in when you see the state of their trucks. :open_mouth: The worst culprits are the ones that love to drive in a filthy greasy high viz coat.Just take the bloody thing off. You’re driving a modern truck now with a heater not an old A.E.C. :imp:

Make sure next time your in the gaffers office to empty a bin all over the floor, when he tells you to pick it up just remind him, he expected you to live in squalor or clean up someone else’s ■■■■ so he can do the same.

These ■■■■■ who expect you to live in someone else’s ■■■■ and won’t dip their hand in their pockets to clean it up, if he was a propper gaffer he wouldn’t have let it get like that in the first place!

The bed cover on a Premium unzips at the back and comes off.

Take it off, and with the curtains, stick them in the washer at 40 degrees, and watch the crap that comes out of them. (Take the clips off the curtains before washing.) You will also notice that a large percentage of the in cab smell will go as well.

Years ago I used a product called Instant Valet on the walls and seats of my ERF. (About £3 per can, and you will need at least 2.) It goes on like a foam, and then you use clean water and a scourer to remove. (Get them from your local pound shop.) Use the rough side of the scourer.

While you have the mattress off, might be a good idea to check and clear where necessary, the inlet for the night heater. Bloody cold at this time of year if it packs up.

Use a very small paint brush to get into the nooks and cranny’s while using the hoover. (Between switches and the like.)

And then grimace when he presents you with your P45.

He’s already said the money is crap, the trucks are obviously crap and his boss must be crap for making him work/live in a ■■■■ hole.

IMO a p45 would be a blessing!

stobrats :unamused: valeters :sunglasses:

Depends how OCD you want to be, by all means use the cheap multi-cleaner and sponge method. I am an ex- professional detailer and have my own wet vac and steam cleaner for upholstery, vertical surfaces and headliners etc , but you can always hire one from any tool hire shop to do the job properly on a saturday perhaps and give your boss the invoice for it.

Just jet wash the filthy pig sty on a Saturday morning then leave the night heater on all weekend.
