South Ockenden? Agencies around here are touting work for other hauliers in the thurrock area, but I’ve never even heard of Stobart work being bandied about… Is it an actual vehicle operator centre, or just one of those places where they park up the trampers at night when they’re down here from up north?
Every layby in these parts seems full of stobbie drivers mon-thursday despite the fact I thought they were all getting laid off… Tescos and Coop have a large demand for drivers, but for me its mediocre pay and the wrong side of the river along with a 50 mile round trip. I prefer Crossways this side of the river (did that running upto Christmas) but DHL Sainsburys was a dead loss after they let me fill all the damned forms in, pass the interview, then not offer me any PAYE work - So much for their so-called “guaranteed 40 hours a week” deal!
