hi i have cat C over a year now my school told me i may need few lessons and just exam for C+E cos thats what im gonna do now.after driving lessons on artic lorry how much cost practical exams?
thank you
The driving school should incorporate the cost of the test into the course. It’s £115 for the practical test
I suggest you go back to the school that gave you that information and ask them the question.
I also recommend you looking around and having assessment drives to see the difference between different trainers - not just price but also quality.
Whatever you do, please keep away from brokers who purport to be driving schools. Check the name on the forum for a quick response.
Best of luck with it, Pete
im not gonna do 5 days course only 2 or 3 maybe and just exam,so see how it goes
school is ok no worries here i just dont need whole 5 days of driving etc i will do 2 or 3 then exam and the cost of exam is that what i was worried about cos propably i will not pass at first time and it take 1,5 hour now!!

Ok

It may be me be very old fashioned, but I suggest you re-think the strategy. Can’t see the point in setting out convinced that you’re going to fail.
There is no subsitute for the correct amount of quality training.
But good luck anyway. Pete
thats right i may do it first time or not just preparing myself for both…and 5 days of training may be not enough and 3 days may be enough depends on person, trainer, etc see how it goes start next week 3 days then test if fail one more day-test if fail same again and test till i pass!!! thanks m8
With a positive attitude, natural aptitude, a good trainer in a sound vehicle, there is a good chance of passing the test in the 3 days - assuming there is at least 5 hours a day.
I hope it works for you and will watch this thread with interest. Good luck, Pete

Quite agree. Our standard Cat C courses are 4 days but because we use the far easier drawbar system for CE training most candidates do not require the same amount again. To be honest we have trained several this year in only 2 days but for that you already need trailer reversing experience.
In my experience providing you are using the same or similar truck for both tests you have already covered about 80%-85% of the CE content in the Cat C course.
The key differences with approx training times are:-
Reversing - about 3-4 hours
Uncoupling - approx 1 hour
Positioning for Left / right turns - approx 2 hours
Planning at roundabouts - approx 2 hours
Of course the more training you can afford generally the better the chance of getting it right.
