Yea cheers m8,im back at work after a few year off broken in bits,my divorce has come thru a few month ago so thats sorted .time to knuckle down so ive got my eye on car to treat myself,a few satdys[about 1o]will cover it

Only you can decide what your weekend is worth to you. But depending on where you are, why not just have a nosey round at other jobs as opposed to a different shift pattern?? It’s not unreasonable to think you could achieve 30k for 55 hours Mon - Fri.
The only thing I could suggest is think long and hard about your social life, not just boozing, do you significant other/family work Mon - Fri? What about the friends you spend time with outside of working hours?
It doesn’t matter how many hours/days you have off in between shifts, if you can’t see anybody else you care about, you will soon resent your new hours.
Driving a lorry Monday to Friday is bad enough - without throwing Saturday and Sunday in the mix! I value my weekends way too much to ever consider working them. We are on 40-hour contract, which is easily met Monday through Friday. So the management can’t force us to work weekends. Obviously there are the ones who live the job and would work seven days if they could! But I say they’re welcome to it. Those two days off each week are precious to me.
sat /sun off for me,like a majority of us if you work mon to fri doing 12 /13 hr days you need sat to sort things and wind down and sun to relax ready for another week,simples
I was working tues - sat ( always finished before 14.00 ) so still some time for me if wanted on a sat liked that shift it suited me then all change working fri-mon ( finished early mon mor ) rest of week off didnt suit me had no social life so found another job
I now work mon - fri ( sometimes a fri night shift which I dont mind )
My divorce cam through many years ago but we are still friends stayed like that mainly for the kids or & I just bought a bike

I say 55hr, but it’s actually 50hrs paid where I am just now, an hour deducted for break each day - is that fairly normal?
would those of you who are saying you get 30k mind saying what company it is - or what kind of work it is?

10.75 a hour mon .fri 44hrs 22.500 or near enough,thats days, overtime after 44 ,25 night out money
I used to work all weekend every weekend until a month ago. I don’t mind Saturdays as long as I get finished by 10pm. Sundays is now my day for shooting at people and now that I have spent money on my hobby, it is not open to negotiation so I no longer work sundays
