How much crap have you got on / around your windscreen?

Star down under.:
Your enforcement mob would have kittens if they came across one of the ridiculous drop visors that seem to be all the rage now.

Probably designed by an osteopathe.
Cleverly set up it can garantee that drivers, hunched over to peer through the gap between visor and wheel, will be suffering back problems.

My old boss from quite a few years ago was dead against things in the window his worst gripe was an o licence and a tax disc .

i used to have a few stickers in the corner of my windscreen till one day in slow moving traffic a woman stepped out and i didnt see her. i was only going about 5mph and she assumed id slow up to let her cross. but cos i hadnt noticed i didnt slow at all and ■■■■ near hit her. since that day iv not had anything on the screen

Yeah, it ain’t worth the risk. I know someone that had a far bigger accident because of restricted vision but I won’t go into detail. What’s the point of having all that tat in your windscreen anyway?
It does no good whatsoever and in my opinion looks stupid. I can understand imortant stuff but stickers and frilly curtains make me puke.

Any glass on a truck is meant to be seen through otherwise it wouldn’t be there in my opinion, sometimes its difficult to see with obstructions like pelmets and the like. Also curtains half closed ie (peek-a-boo curtains) are just an accident waiting to happen, likewise BRIGHT lights in the back of the cab that reflect on the windscreen at night are highly dangerous. In my opinion.

If you’ve got brake lights in the back of your cab its too late you’ve already hit them up the ass

I despise these stupid things. Even the moderate ones mean me of average height has to sit with all the air out of the seat on the floor. At least with a pelment they are usually stuck on with velcro so I can get them off screen while driving

its always down to personal taste along with most aspects of life.
theres some who like their cab to look like a tarts parlour and some who prefer a poverty spec trunkmobile.
as far as the visor/pelmet goes, then they dont stop you seeing anything in front of you,not running anyone over.
at a push they might obstruct a low flying jet or a bridge and theres never any chance of hitting something as big as that now,is there??

Odd isn’t it? We all moaned about the small screen in the wretched LAD cabbed Comet. Now,all cabs have large screens but some drivers fill them up with a load of tat which takes the viewing area back to the size of the Comet screen.Same as little tippers with TIR plates fitted.Regards,900x20. :unamused:
