I bring food for the week but still end up spending a fiver a day in those wild bean garages. Usually a scrambled egg muffin and coffee for breakie and a chicken wrap and coffee for lunch
I envy you all for showing so much restraint and having the discipline to balance your lifestyle.
I don’t live in a truck or even drive one very often now, but I spend a lot of time out on the road visiting customers and such like and I can easily spend £50 a day on brekkie, lunch, dinner and coffee inbetween.
I been known to put £500 a month just on my Starbucks card, and could probably spend the same again on nothing more than baguettes and sandwiches if I didn’t force myself to have a proper meal at least every second day.
The wife and I used to eat out every Friday night at local pub and have Costa coffee Saturday and Sunday. Stopped now and only have coffee at cheaper independant cafes for half the price. Don’t eat out at pubs even once a month now, savings are incredible.
Anywhere from nowt to about a tenner depending on the mood I’m in! Most days under a fiver but occasionally wander into Costa/Starbucks/Pret for a nice cuppa char a sarnie/slab of cake…
Depends how many Starbucks or costas I pass coffee is one of my vices. Although after taking switchlogics advice I don’t carry a lot of cash and use my debit card as much as possible and this saves a few quid.

Lukes’ advice doesn’t stem from his “£150 on rent boys” post, does it?
I take home-made sandwiches with me, plus some fruit/veg, a packet of crisps and a piece of home-baked cake. I take a bottle of water to drink through the day. Total cost maybe a pound or two. I do sometimes treat myself to a frothy coffee as a reward when refuelling after the last drop of the day, but at around two quid a go, that’s very much a luxury item!

plus my time making the sandwiches is worth more than the fiver I’d save.
So you must be on around £60/hour? And they reckon drivers are poorly paid.
Not, that’d mean my time was worth more to my company, but it’s worth more to me. Honestly, an extra 10 mins in bed and spend a fiver on a warm butty n brew… No contest

Usually around a fiver through the day, but I’d rather have a nice warm meal through the day than soggy sandwiches, plus my time making the sandwiches is worth more than the fiver I’d save.
When I was on Maritime though, I’d have a lot of food in the cab, and even now, if I’m tramping, I take a lot of tuna/pasta dishes, more about health than saving money though.
Soggy sandwiches what you making them out of have you not heard of a fridge or a cool box/bag
But then I stopped eating bread / pasta / wheat several weeks ago as eating “clean” I also exercise with this quite easy to do
I eat a lot of fresh fruit & nuts take them with me as snack to eat
Lot of fleet trucks don’t have a fridge, not carrying a cool box in and out everyday.
If I’m in a truck all week, I’ll take some healthy / healthier stuff from home with me, which also saves a few quid, but in and out everyday, I have enough of a job remembering my balls, and they’re kept in a bag
Sorry but I am just a low van driver who changes vehicle at least 2 in a day but I still manage ok have a small cool box ( fits approx 4 cans ) take a lot in there as I dont drink pop dont like it or a cool bag with the day stuff in cheap enough to buy & easy to carry in day bag
I sometimes go into services for hot water as normally only drink green tea ( sometimes do have a coffee no more than 1 per day )
But then I dont take sandwiches as dont eat bread well have cut out wheat & a lot of other stuff do take plenty of fresh fruit & nuts
