When I had full coverage. I was paying 1700 upto 3.5 tonnes incl multi drop and furniture. Currently my 09 kangoo is around 1k all in git and pl for a light haulage policy a 3.5 tonner would be the same on the same policy for similar age. If you lease the van usually a swb vivaro they pay fuel for the run and the 200 per week covers insurance too but it would be cheeper to get your own van and insurance then you. May get 150 per day
£150 a day? for HOW MANY!!! drops?
Erm, hate to brag, but I make more than that doing 1 drop, 1 reload on C+E, I have no fuel to pay for, no insurance NCD to worry about, no security issues to concern myself with,
Thanks but no thanks!

Just after I started driving for a living I was sent by the Agency to Ripponden Motors, blue cream Renault’s, are they still there? and the bloke came out of the office with a sheaf of notes that would have choked a Donkey “here are your drops” he said “how many are there” I asked, he then said the best line I have ever heard in over 30 years of driving, “130 round Manchester area, then ring in AFTER DINNER for your pick ups” this was 09.00 as it was a call out, I cracked out laughing walked to my car and went home.
Hello Blunder Man. I worked at Ripponden for 33 years from 1964 to 1997. What year did you have your unfortunate experience ? I would probably have been there then. The firm shut down in 2007.
Regards. John.
About 1986 maybe 85?, I always asked how many drops after that but I was lucky and started Driving C+E soon after, I have the greatest admiration for multi-drop drivers, the work is well underpaid for what they do.
Yes you were there when a well run, family owned, happy ship had been " changed " by new owners and management !!
Regards. John.
