How many drivers had flags in their windscreen

Flags■■? we shared a tax disc where i worked never into flags number plates or lights

Hi ramone, thought you’d be the first to reply, here your having gearbox trouble, glad I did my driving when I was driving the wagon not the other way round.

A firm around here took that a bit further; Took a Leyland Super Mastiff for MOT, it passed and they then swapped number plates with it’s sister. The sister went for test and failed.
I know of another firm that used to repaint their Poclain 65 excavators as 75s to get more per hour on the hire rate.

Flags, nameplates, never!!! I know who I am and where I’m from. Besides, how the hell did you clean the screen with all that crap in the way!!! Regards Kev. :unamused: :unamused:

Ha! We move with the times. Personally I don’t like the flags. But there was a time when I did: when it was fashionable to do so! Here are some of my most triumphant ‘where I’ve been’ flags - the first picture shows the windscreen and the second shows the lorry to give context. Oh; and I did drive that very lorry to all of those countries and an awful lot more! Robert

Hi all, I had this brand new with ct ,the person who had it after me done it up

Hi all, I had this Scania with carline ,it was owned by dai feeley everything was left on it bar the flags

You are bang right Les , i detest the ■■■■■■ things i think its time to move on

YES RAMONE next in line is furry clogs, and massive black wallets and a stupid big chain, yes i lothed both of them what i did not understand there were some good men, who had the hanging wallet. with all the compartments for differnt currencies like the waitresses used in restaurants [so i was told as i never used them either ]
If you stood at the bottom of the customs steps in dover, look up and if you see the fury clogs, it was wind up time…

What about the chrome “Haulin ■■■” plate on the grille? My Dad had one, not of his choosing but someone had a new lorry, stuck said plate plus two “lady silhouettes” on the front, and Foden pendants in the side windows, and Hadley air horns on the roof. Then the driver left and Dad was next in line. He didn’t endure it long, after a month or so it was stolen.

You could retire, its not bad once you stop dreaming about the class 1 you gave up  its took me three years and sometimes I still get the urge to drive an old Atki or ERF with a proper gearbox, not these modern trucks  even a few more years at Solaglas with the Scania would do nicely flags and all.
