How many DCPC cards do I need?

Not a serious question, but I have now ended up with 3 cards, all with expiry date of 2019. I originally had one with just the C categories on, then applied to have D categories added so I could start adding hours ready for the next session, so got card number 2. Just got back form holiday and received a 3rd card with cats C & D on, same details etc as card 2, but this one has a fancy hologram of my photo and expiry date on it. The letter which came with it was the standard one, but I’m unsure whether I need to return cards 1 & 2, destroy them, or put them on Ebay (joke).

Anybody else getting a collection of these cards?

Gary

You have fallen into the trap of thinking that you have DCPC cards, you dont. What you have are the sort of DCPC cards that make you eligible for training to acquire a real DCPC card at more expense. After September you will need your new DCPC card to allow you to use your old DCPC cards for their intended purpose.I hope that this makes more sense to you than it does to me and a few others on this forum.

They sent me a new one when I moved house, neither the old one or the new one has my address on it.

Idiots.

Biggest stupidity was that I got most of my CPC from four days forklift training.

I received a new DQC after renewing my driving licence. I noticed my old licence had the Town of birth on - my new licence now says ‘UK’. As this detail changed on the licence and that detail is on the DQC - it triggered a new DQC.

So if you have changed anything on your licence that is also contained on the DQC (such as place of birth) then a new DQC is issued.

I’ve not changed anything on licence, tacho, CPC card etc, but got a new one in a slightly different style.

As an aside, one if our drivers received a new ‘tacho card’ recently, and phoned the office to say that it wouldn’t work in the tacho. It was actually his new DCPC card…

Guess that was 35 hours wasted!

Well they used to have “Place of Birth” on the form, which was usually taken to be the town. An old one of mine did. Now the form says “Country of Birth”. My current licence has “SCOTLAND” on it, not “UK”.
