I must’ve seen about 10-15 campers/caravans today heading for Devon/Cornwall…
WTF is wrong with people, also there has been alot of cars with families in & loaded up (as per summer holidays)

Now i obviously don’t know where they are all coming from or going to and some may be perfectly legitimate but after the selfish [zb] we saw over the weekend i doubt it…

It wasn’t NHS managers who signed those PFI deals was it?

“My true colours”?
What? Have I ever mislead you or anyone else by flying false flags?
.
I pay full UK tax and use the NHS service. I have a right to comment on the way politicians use my taxes.
.
You are correct it wasn’t managers who signed the PFI deals it was Labour, yet no criticism of Labour from you on that, all parties make political mistakes but some people can only see the mistakes that the ones they dislike make and not their own. You will criticize Johnson no matter what he does ffs even the TUC are supporting him on this one after it is over then lessons can be learnt then if they are not learnt it is fair to call out the incompetence just like the NHS says it will learn after it’s incompetence is brought to light except it never does which why the same mistakes are repeated, which brings us full circle back to incompetent managers.
There are some issues in comparison of different countries.
But the total number of IC beds and Drs, No Matter How Funded, seems low to me.
Introducing argument about payment method, is irrelevant to what is available. The beds and Drs are not here. Why?
And how do you explain the falling levels of beds and Drs in the UK?
.
I hold no candle for any one political party.
But I do lean one way more than another.
.
There are good and bad politicians in all parties.
.
Johnson has faults which I believe make him a liability more than asset for any party. And makes him unsuitable for office.
I’ve only got 11hrs off tonight, so can’t list them all.

Unfortunately for you, we live in a democracy and the person elected as Prime Minister is the leader of the party which won most seats at the previous general election. Sorry, but that’s just how democracy works. If you don’t like it, Belarus is thataway------>
If the answer to the thread question is “The clowns that will disobey Boris - are the same ones who voted against him last December” - we have our partisan answer for our post-partisan times we now live in.
No surprises there then.

The argument about how services are paid for are is not irrelevant because it means that there isn’t a monopoly on how the money is spent or raised. I lived in Germany and paid medical insurance and you have the insurance companies pushing for higher standards as it is in their interests to be able to provide a better service than their rivals, in the UK for most of us the service is like it or lump it
The link I put up shows that Doctor and nurse numbers are not falling and that is from the BBC hardly an organisation to shy away from criticising any government when it comes to the NHS fullfact.org/health/are-there-m … ed_content

In 2018 Germany spent 10.4% GDP on health care the UK spent 6.8%.
Maybe we got a lot of bang for those bucks didn’t we! Thank the NHS managers.
.
Look, it is a complicated situation, and for us to trade odd figures isn’t very productive. That is after all why politicians don’t agree on a simple solution to it all.

Fortunately we do live in a democracy.
That is why I can speak out freely, and do so.
If you don’t want to hear views different to your own, then take your own advice, and live somewhere against freedom of expression.

Or maybe with better management we could have got more bang for our bucks, one of those unanswerable questions

Ha Ha !
Yeah, at least you haven’t said “we need efficiencies to be made”.
That would show your intentions to run as an MP next election!
.
. Sorry, no insult intended. [emoji3]
franglais, you keep on spouting NHS managers. NO majority of the health service is now run by (TRUSTS) god help us … central gov put it out there basically and said theres your budget get on with it…
so we end up in many cases of , councillors, local heroes who aint got a clue about the real world telling the majority that this is the best way … what a load of bollox…
Optimum:
Whatever our politcal leanings or voting history ,in a time of national emergency it beholds us all to close ranks and support the Government for the duration.
Totally agree.
A historic opportunity to unite the country - is now at hand.
I’m sure Boris won’t hold it against you if you vote him out in 2024 - any more than Churchill might have been a bit bothered by losing the 1945 election to Clement Atlee…
People were prepared to back the PM during the Blitz - and now the time has come to come together regardless of you having voted Conservative back in december - or not.

Looks like most people includes the experience drivers who now don’t have a clue about not sitting in a crowded room why because that’s how it’s done
In other words no mind of their own or concern for their family
It’s hard to believe but really follow the pack I always thought that, but, is it really that bad that they really don’t have a mind of their own to protect themselves or there family

im just waiting on the inevitable “rebels” putting videos on FB or youtube showing themselves flouting the lockdown
I suspect that retailers will flout the ban
From the B&Q website the
An update from Graham Bell, B&Q CEO
The Prime Minister has announced that all non-essential retailers will close to help stop the spread of Covid-19. We have learnt that the DIY and Hardware store sector has been categorised as an essential retailer by the government.
We are now working out the safest and simplest way to support communities in providing only essential products moving forwards.
Our stores, as we prepare, will be closed Tuesday 24th March.
Since when has buying paint and a few nails been a survival priority?
Atm my shift(s) for Tuesday onwards this week haven’t been cancelled so I’m gonna go into work this morning, but I’m anticipating this to change for the rest of the week.
Sports Dotect are staying open too. Gotta pump those essential sports tat garments at 2 for £20 out to help rescue the country…
Then again as a Newcastle supporter I cant say it surprises me one bit.
If people are only allowed out for food and medicine then is there any point? Of course there is because people will go…
The gvnmt statement this afternoon stated that Sports Direct will not be allowed to stay open, presume that’ll go for B&Q also.
“I work for a fashion retail store selling luxury items - this is not essential work.” The worker says he and nine other employees are working behind closed doors, carrying out stock transfers back to the warehouse.
Looks like those with stuff worth nicking are emptying the shops before our underclasses get the chance
