how many changes of vehicle can be made on a single tachograph chart

Here’s a question for you, how many spaces are there in which to put the vehicle
entries?

Regards,
Nick.

Nothing stopping you using a separate chart for each one

To be fair this is the “New & Wannabe Drivers” forum, the OP may not have a chart or even ever seen a chart for all we know

This has just been fetched up at work this week and you can use a separate card for each wagon you DONT have to use the same one until its full, VOSA dont mind because if they need to look at cards for a vehicle they will be in the correct place so there is no missing milage.

Hope this helps.

No, not really, each tachograph chart is meant to record a the driver’s daily driving period and for that reason, there is space to record up to three changes of vehicle.

I have been shown the Spanish book of fines and from memory, using more than one chart when one could have been used was priced at 1500 euros.

There is a basic principal, that each chart can cover 24 hours and if the working day, be it one shift or two, can be completed within that 24 hour period, only one chart may be used.

Nick.

You should use the one chart. Exceptions being, if the chart is damaged, when you have changed vehicles so many times the chart has no more space to record the changes or the current chart is incompatible with the vehicle you have changed to.

Company I worked for insisted on separate tacho for each vehicle, never had a problem when pulled by vosa

You worked for a strange company.

It was done like that because they filed there tacho’s by vehicle order, so if there was a nip for a vehicle it was easier to look throght records to find driver, if tacho had more than one vehicle on it then it would mess up their filling system :unamused:

Well obviously it is important to change or ignore the regulations to suit a filing system. I mean it would be just plain crazy to stick to the regulations and have a filing system that works with them eh?
