How long to get used to cpc out on the road

In the run up to initial cpc and once you understand it it becomes somewhat common knowledge. But the tricky part i imagine is applying that knowledge from the get go, i imagine the incident rate for newbies is quite high , incident rate i dont mean accident i mean, overweight, driving too long parking where you arent supposed to, and alot of other potential hiccups. How long does it generally take to start applying the cpc knowledge accuratley and hopefully without too many faults errors or fines

How long is a piece of string?

There are probably lots of valid arguments as to whether or not there is any knowledge to be gained from the DCPC!

As with everything in life though whether lessons are learned is totally down to the individual concerned. I know new passes who are already superb in every aspect of transport, and I also know drivers who’ve had their licences for years and are complete disaster areas.

I guess it boils down to whether the individual takes pride in their work and wants to be the best they can, or whether they don’t give a damn.

Could also depend upon how much credence one puts in government guff. e.g. here I am dangerously tired after X hrs yet if I can cross an imaginary line on the ground, into another state, I suddenly become safe and alert again. I think I’ll back my judgment about when I’m tired, over that of an overpaid chair polisher.

I learned something in one of mine last week….the blackened whitei lines on the roads are called overbanding. Thankfully it’s all in house so cost me nothing to learn that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

CPC doesn’t really have much to do with your day to day job most of it’s pointless.common sense..
Ok being new you might learn about driving hours road signs rules etc..bit rest is pointless.

Just remember. Always strap your load as best as you can.
The main issue will be sticking to driving times wtd etc..once you worked that out your be fine.
Just drive to conditions don’t rush.dont let anyone rush you break the law it’s your licence
And parking is same as cars don’t park on double yellow lines. And no waiting zones etc

Unless your in Kent your just get clamped moved. Along just because they don’t like us
