On Sunday I went to put my digi card in and it came up with “error card 50” so went to the DVLA at Theale yesterday (queued nearly 2 hours) and sorted a new one.
The girl said to me that itll take upto 30 days 
That cant be right can it surely, as I wont be able to drive after 15 days…
firstly, why bother going to sit in a queue?
you should have simply phoned DVLA at Swansea
secondly, after recent experience with local office staff at DVLA, they know ■■■■ all 
your card should be back with you in 7 to 14 days, mine came back in 4 days
lastly, did they give you a reference number for the faulty card?
if you drive without the card in, and get stopped, you will need this number to give to them as verification that you have reported the faulty card

Yes they gave me a yellow receipt for it…
And my driving licence change of address - 2 birds, one stone and all that
