No vans only park with cameras facing towards oncoming traffic, a hand held use on a bike is the same, old school was to visually take note of the number plate, today’s sophisticated cameras are digital recorders, so the event is filmed and the speed time and date imprinted in the recorded evidence, with a bike there’s no plate to the front so the officer would record the oncoming bike and keep recording as the bike passes and he captures the rear for the number plate

And your right there is not a machine that can do that never was and up till now never
You have to use your noggin does ir sound possible
Not in this day and age

And up until last year I was in agreement with you, not a machine that could do that. But as described he got caught and the only time he was speeding was after he past plod, accelerating out of the speed limit, and looked in his rear view mirror to see said device pointing at him.
But then thinking about it why would it not be possible. With laser technology to constantly measure distance and an internal clock, is it that implausible that it couldn’t be possible? Assuming that’s how it would work.

Well you keep adding to it mate eh ? .
You’ve got to rein in this thing you have about me man, seriously.
Try and avoid the uncontrollable urge to respond to my every post, you’re becoming obsessive.
Or you could just carry on, as I do find you amusing, (but for all the wrong reasons. .)

Poor Mr advanced driving police man. My heart bleeds for him and its only right he should get his points dropped to allow him to continue in his job.Hmmm.
Not much of an ‘‘Advanced Driver’’ if he does not understand the basic importance of speed awareness that they presumably try and teach you on these courses…and caught twice ?
Throw the [zb] book at him BECAUSE he’s an ‘‘Advanced Driver’’ from the Police I say…
Coppers, Magistrates, Politicians and the like, all ■■■■ in the same pot and have their ugly snouts in the same trough, one rule for them and one for the rest, they’re invincible in cases such as this.If I eventually get pulled for that camera incident last week, I’ve heard that HGV drivers get ‘‘concentrated on’’ at these speed awareness bs courses, so what’s the difference?
Ok, arguably I should also know better as a pro driver, but at least I aint lording it over other drivers making judgements and telling them where they’re going wrong, and relieving them of a few quid every day like this [zb]. … [zb] hypocrite.
Big +1 mate.
A further disgrace of an officer to add to an already untrusted police force.
Update…in case anybody is actually mildly interested.
3 weeks and 2 days passed, no word, so it looks like I’ve been lucky, so licence remains clean …through skin of my teeth.
…
(Knowing my luck it will be false sense of security, and in letterbox tomorrow morning.
)
Somebody inform my no1 fan Nightline, asap (I know how he worries about me,) and tell him I can now afford next years caravan hol without worrying about paying for it, …week in Scunthorpe next year I reck , …, so will have to get a few 70 + hour/5 nights out weeks in.

Especially if I tell him I was wearing my flip flops, and listening to the radio at the same time.

Doing that is fine - provided you have done a full risk assessment (and completed the relevant forms detailing your decision) beforehand.
